Waitlisting and booking through Disney

I'm looking for a last minute reservation for a studio for June 8-11. Nothing is available at any resort at the moment. If I book a regular hotel reservation through Disney and then my waitlist comes through, would I still be charged a cancellation fee?

You would still be charged any appropriate fees from Disney for cancelling (it depends on when you cancel). DVC and Disney reservations are not connected, so they don't really care if your DVC waitlist came through.
