waitlisted for thanksgiving day

Waitlisted for BWV studio on Thanksgiving. Amazing that every single room is sold out for that day at every DVC resort. Of course i can just use cash and there is availability for the same thing that day. Two questions.
1. Has anyone ever had success getting a wait list to come through on Thanksgiving or another big holiday?
2. If I break down and go cash for that one day, can it be linked to my points stay so that we have the same room?

Yes, WL's do come through. We tried to get 2 BWV studios for Thanksgiving weekend right at the 11 month mark and only 1 was available, so we took it and waitlisted for the other. Our waitlist for the 2nd Boardwalk View studio came through about 3 weeks ago.

In case anyone else is interested in part two of my question. I got an answer. We were able to book a discounted room (due to AP discount) at BWV for Thanksgiving night and the reservation agent was able to link with our DVC ressie, thus ensuring we don't have to move rooms, etc. And if we come off the waitlist, no penalty. Yay.

I have three linked reservations for Thanksgiving weekend in an OKW studio. I was able to book Wed and Thu back in April and wait-list for Fri. The Fri wait-list came through about a week or so later. Just this week I added Sat and Sun. I keep checking for a 1br in any resort for all five nights but I keep coming up empty with Thanksgiving being the day that has never has availability.

I am wait-listed for a 1br at VWL. I'm suspecting I have a snowball's chance in...well, you get the idea. I sure wish you could wait-list for a villa type at any DVC resort instead of having to be specific to one.

I agree about waitlisting for "any" resort of a specific type. It's also frustrating that there is availability at EVERY resort for that weekend for cash paying customers but not for DVC members. I understand the whole inventory control thing but when you buy into DVC I think that's something that you never realize.
