Hi Experts!

If I were to waitlist for a resort at 7 months, is it better to do it day-by-day or all at the checkout day?
Also, if I already have a ressie using all my points. How does it work with a waitlist.....when my waitlist ressie comes available does MS then cancel my original ressie and then apply the points to the waitlisted ressie? Or do I have to borrow points from next year for the waitlisted ressie and then cancel original ressie and bank those points? Does this make sense to anyone? I surely hope so, and I hope someone out there has the answers.
Thanks.

If the time you are going is around a holiday or busy time, I would waitlist day by day. Otherwise, I would just do it by checkout day.

On your other question, if the waitlist comes through and it's the same amount of points as your existing reservation, they just book you at your waitlisted resort and the other reservation cancels. Now, if it takes more points for the new waitlisted reservation and you don't have the points and need to borrow - I don't know how it works. I do know that you can set your waitlist up to either have Member Services call you to see if you still want it or do an automatic confirm. I always do an automatic confirm with them just in case it comes through and they can't get a hold of me. But, I've always had enough points in my current use year if the new reservation takes more points.
