Waitlist Question

I have a newbie question. We are booked to make our welcome home trip in November. We bought in January of last year and for obvious reasons we did not get to travel. So, I have 5 nights booked at our home resort (Poly) the first week of November. However, I kinda want to try for the first two nights (or even the last two) at Beach Club or Boulder Ridge (or Bay Lake, or...). My question is this, can I have more than one waitlist request? My top choice is (really) Beach Club because we have never stayed there. So I will put in a waitlist for BC. (I know it is a long shot). Can I also put one in for Boulder Ridge? If so, how is that handled? It is just something to try for. Worst case scenario we stay at the Poly for 5 days with a lake view.
I know, probably a silly question that has been asked and answered before - so I apologize in advance. Thanks for any help.

You can have 2 active waitlists per a use year. If you’re attempting a split stay you typically want to have 2 reservations booked. That way you can set your waitlist to replace the reservation you currently have. This isn’t an option if you have 1 continuous reservation because you would lose the other days from your current reservation. If you have the extra points to cover the days you’re trying to book you can drop the days after your waitlist comes though.

If you want the waitlist to replace only part of the trip you need to call and not use the website.

The online site is all or nothing so I’d replace everything. So, the CM can set it up and add the notes so it only replaces what you want.

As mentioned, you can have two but in the future if you might want to split stay, book that way from the start and if it doesn’t come through, Ms can combine back into one as long as both were same room size and view!

That’s great information! We love to do split stays but I didn’t realize this was an option! I have gotten in the habit of making 2 reservations at 11 months... but that can be stressful as I’m usually attempting to book blt standard studios.

Not to hijack, but I have a related question...

I currently have my 5-night October stay booked as a 2-night stay and a 3-night stay. (Both are in a 1BR value at AKV Jambo). I would like to spend the first 2 nights in a studio at Riviera and since the preferred studio will cost the same number of points, I set up a waitlist on the off-chance that a miracle happens. My daughter told me yesterday that she wouldn't mind trying Copper Creek either so I thought about setting up a waitlist there too...why not, right?...but there are two choices for a studio and I can only pick one to waitlist. I don't know which one will give me the better odds. Should I take the one with the walk-in shower or the other one? Also, Riviera is still our first choice so if for some reason the Copper Creek waitlist filled first, I want to make sure that I can stay on the Riviera waitlist. Does filling one waitlist cancel the other one, causing me to have to start over at the bottom?

(FWIW...I'm planning on spending 5 nights at Jambo House)

I always do the two reservation thing as well because I don’t want to have to wait the extra hour to call when trying.
