I got a 2 bedroom for the first week in May a couple of years ago at 7 months.

I would think it would matter if your reservations will covering Memorial Day weekend. But you might have a good chance for earlier in the month.

I never had to waitlist for 2 studios at the beginning of May, and always got them for a 4 night weekend, either Mother's day or the weekend before. Now we own and I don't have to wait until 7 months. So, I suppose it depends what sort of villa you want and when you want.

I have had res for this coming week and had been waitlisted for week of 8th(until 30 days out) , instead we only have 5 days starting 12th and have a waitlist for the 11th(only 1 night) that expires at midnight tonight that has not come thru. It seems harder to get what I want at 7 mo every yr.

I was able to book at BCV at 7months for our upcoming August trip. I called right at 9am, and I didn't have to waitlist!

Now that there are more members, it is harder to get what you want at the smaller resorts 7 months out.

This year I could not even get a 2 br at OKW for 5 nights--only 4 were available. We own at BWV and could not get all our nights for October at about 10 months out. We are still on the waitlist, but I dont expect it to come through since October is prime time for boardwalk resorts.

However, you never know. Good luck, but have a back-up plan you can live with.

If your trip is early May, you may be ok at 7 months. I would call exactly at 7 months to take advantage of anyone trying to switch out of BCV to another resort for your dates. If you are unable to get all 7 days, you may want to wait list. A lot of changes take place over a 7 month period. Good luck!
