We have a studio book for June 28-July 1 at BCV-then we are switching to an OKW one bedroom. We are on the waitlist for a one bedroom at BCV for July 1-5 (I know over the 4th!!) When do you normally find out if your waitlist came through. Is it usually 30 or so days before your trip or any time between now and July 1??

Do I call at 30 days and state I want the waitlist to continue. I read somewhere that it expires at 30 days before the trip.

My other question....should I waitlist day by day? I know getting a one bedroom for all four nights at once may be a long shot because of the holiday.

Any waitlist advice would be helpful. Thanks!:)

***By the way-I was excited about the OKW one bedroom but my husband is not excited about changing resorts!! I thought about staying at OKW the entire trip but this is our first trip home and I wanted to stay at our home resort for a few days!!

There really isn't any "norm" - it just depends on when or if others change their plans. So a waitlist could come through anytime.

It is true that 30-31 days prior to arrival, saavy members who are not absolutely sure of their plans will cancel to avoid having points go into the holding account.

Yes, the waitlists are "purged" at that time. Anyone who wants to continue to stay on the waitlist must call and ask to stay on the waitlist.

That's really up to you and yor own tolerance for risk. Waitlisting for individual days will give you the best chance of something coming through. However, you could end up moving more than once if all the days don't come through.

I don't balme your DH - I hate moving, too. If it were me, I'd stay on the waitlist for all the days to come through at once until the 31 day mark. Then I'd just plan on staying at OKW if it didn't come through.

I'd plan a "resort/pool day" for moving day (probably at SAB) & I'd have Disney move my luggage. I'd look forward to the larger accomodations at OKW (and the washer/dryer, LOL). Moving doesn't have to be a big deal and since it will probably be HOT & crowded in the parks, a pool day doesn't sound too bad.

Good luck - hope your waitlist works, but if it doesn't, you will have many future trips to stay at the BCV using your 11 month window.

Thanks a lot for the info!

I think I will until the end of May...and if it does not come through I will try to change the entire reservation to a one bedroom at OKW if I can get one...if not I will stay at the BCV studio the first few nights and move to OKW (I will have a lot of explaining to the hubby but I think I will just wait to get there to tell him!)
