Waitlist quesiton

Scenario:

Have Resort X booked. Established waitlists for Resort Y and Z for the same dates, cancelling X if Y or Z comes through. In the meantime, move reservation at X to a different resort Q.

If Y or Z becomes available, will it (a) fill and cancel the reservation at Q, or will it (b) not fill because X is no longer booked, and there are not enough UY points left to hold both Q and (Y or Z)?

I am trying to figure out if I need to cancel and re-establish the waitlists for Y and Z.

Was resort Q booked by modifying the reservation for resort X? If so, it will have the same reservation number as resort X, so should be cancelled if the waitlist comes through.

I had a similar situation where I changed SSR to BLT, but had an existing Poly waitlist. The waitlist came through and replaced the BLT reservation (same number as the original SSR reservation).

Even if you didn’t change to resort Q by modifying, I would think you can call MS and have them note that you want to replace the new resort Q res if the waitlist fills. Should not need to cancel and re-establish waitlists. But I do not have personal experience on this specific point, so could be wrong.

It should replace it but I have had MS call to just double check when I did it a few times.

Other times they just replaced!

As @Sandisw said, I also have had them call me when I've messed with my original reservation. Now I call them and sometimes still get a call. (I can't leave anything alone!)

No…they don’t show a match that is waiting to be processed.

My guess is they called just to make sure.
