Waitlist modification

I had a single night waitlisted at both BWV and OKW that I'd set up awhile back to add a night to our trip. At the time, there was no existing reservation to cancel if it became available, so I remember choosing to not replace an existing reservation or something along those lines and also to not borrow points.

Fast forward to today, I grabbed an OKW (near HH) thru stalking and cancelled that waitlist. We are already staying 5 nights at BWV and would prefer to just stay there for the 6th night, so I want to keep that waitlist. However, I now have ZERO points available to book the BWV room, so they'd need to cancel the OKW if availability opens up.

I tried the modify waitlist option, but it does not allow me to specify replacing the OKW ressie I just made. Can they do this if I call? I don't want to lose my place "in line" by just creating a new waitlist.

Chat with MS online to request this. They will do it on their end. It's worked perfectly for me. You can call and e-mail the request too but I always find chat easiest. Specifically I state I would like the waitlist modified to cancel another reservation. Then they ask which reservation it should cancel.

Although, the fact that I got the OKW by stalking (despite having an active waitlist) leads me to believe I will need to take matters into my own hands to get the BWV room anyway! At least if I slack off for a day here or there, maybe I still have a chance... HA!
