Waitlist made during home resort booking period

I have a waitlist that was made during the home resort booking period. If it fills during the 7th month time frame, will member services use any points available to fill it? Or would I have to have home resort points available for member services to book it?

That’s a good question and I am not positive. My guess though is that it shouldn’t matter which points because it’s not bejng filled until 7 months or less

If a waitlist fills during 7 months window then any available points can and will be used.

I’ve tried that several times.

I’ve chatted with ms about it and was told that since I used my home resort priority window to create the WL then home resort points would be used - but as with many things else this is not the case in the real world.

It also wouldn’t make sense if you are forced to use home resort points at 7 months. Rules states that during non home resort priority window any type of points can be used.

Also they would need to rework the IT system as 7 months reservations don’t have the “lock” on contracts.
