Waitlist Frustration

I posted in another thread about trying to build a RIV Tower Studio stay. We had 4 nights and were trying to add 1 to the beginning so we put in a waitlist. We had given up on this so switched over to Poly when it opened up a few minutes ago. So we cancelled the 4 night TS stay and de-activated the waitlist. Well, I guess the waitlist had matched but wasn't processed because no sooner than I de-activated it it showed up as being available.

There has to be a better system than what they are using to fill these and notify owners.

So frustrated right now.

I agree that there should be something to notify owners that it’s matched but pending processing.

But I can say I never cancel a waitlist anymore unless I double check first via chat that there is not match showing.

I have also changed things in a split stay, canceled the waitlist and went back just to check and did get to grab it!!

I am sorry it didn’t work out.

In the end it is going to be better because we are doing the Xmas Party during the dates so Poly really works out better (assuming the walkway is still open).

It's just annoying because as someone who doesn't own at RIV I don't know when we would ever have a chance at 5 nights in a TS. Also frustrating because we chatted w/2 CMs and called a CM today for other reasons and didn't ask.

Thought I'd follow up on my negative waitlist experience with a positive one. As mentioned, we grabbed a Poly reservation. It ended up being 3 nights in a standard view, 1 in a lake view, then 2 back in a standard view. We put in 2 individual waitlist requests last night -- one for that middle Lake View day and 1 for a day that proceeds at VGF. I was stalking the site today and saw 6 days in a row at Poly so expanded the calendar view but the middle 2 days were gone already. My wife did a chat with MS and amazingly that waitlist we put in just last night to replace the lake view day had matched so they processed it for us. Now we just have to wait for the 3 reservations to be merged (which we were told could be anytime between now and check-in day...which is in December)....and hope the first night comes through.
