I was wondering if any body could give advice regarding going on the waitlist for rooms. My DW and I went on the wait list today for two studios for either of the first two weeks in Dec.

I thought the first two weeks were a slow time of year? All the DVC resorts are booked solid.

What do you think our chances are?

Thanks

Slow for WDW but the most popular time of all for DVC. Low points, Holiday festivities... It depends on which resort or if you will take any DVC resort. If you will take any DVC resort, you should be able to get something from the waitlist, but I suspect studios will be tougher than some other size units.

Probably a better chance for second week than first week. Other threads seem to indicate that the first week has lots of folks waitlisted. It was good that you gave flexibility on resorts and dates. That will give you a much better chance. Good luck!

thanks for all the support, our waitlist came thru today. Two studios at OKW for 11/26 thru 12/1. Happy dance........

Oh I guess I should have wait listed at OKW. We're going down 11-25 to 12/2 and the 26th and the 30th were not available.

So we went with SSR. Can I call back MS today and get wait listed?

This is only our 2nd trip as DVC and I'm not sure of all the ins and outs of the doings.

Thanks for your advice.

Yes, you can. A lot of people make whatever reservation they can get and then waitlist for what they really want.

During that time of year -- because it's so popular -- there are many, many folks doing that, and that makes your chances of getting your waitlist pretty good. When someone who has a ressie at OKW gets VWL or whatever, you get OKW. Obviously, waitlisting is much more difficult at a smaller resort.

I called back today to go on the wait list for OKW and I did not have to because the rooms were now available.

Glad I read this thread.

Thanks very much. (I was going to have to rent the last night, due to point differences)

Love the Dis Boards :thumbsup2

I agree with Diane.
