Waitlist for standard view BWV

I booked a "preferred view" for Aug 21-28, but got on the waitlist for standard view (i.e., fewer points). The MS agent thought I'd get it. What do you think?

Never know. Six months is an awful long time for other people to change their plans.

Were any of the dates available when you called? If it were me, I'd probably consider booking a partial stay in a standard if they had 3 or 4 consecutive days available at the front or back end of your stay. Even if the rest doesn't come through, at least you're only changing rooms once--in the same resort no less.

I wait listed for standard view just after the 7 month window for a stay in late May -- including Memorial Day weekend. I didn't do the one-night-at-a-time thing, but called for the whole 8 nights at once. It came through 6 weeks later.

I think you'll probably get it.

2 weeks ago I was waitlisted for Thanksgiving Day. But, today, in the mail came my new updated confirmation, with Thanksgiving Day on it!!! Never thought it would be so quick. So, it will probably work out.

I, too, have had goodluck with the waitlist. We got on the waitlist around the 7 month mark. Within 3 weeks our wait had come thru (we opted to wait the entire time at once - not day by day).

As you can see from my countdown clock - we're almost there!!!! Yippee!!!

My experiences with switching from a PV to a standard view from a waitlist have not been good. I have had great luck with being able to get a reservation (PV villa) from the wait list or being able to add on missing nights from the waitlist, but switching from a PV to a SV from the waitlist has only worked 2x for me in many, many bookings.
But you never know! I would still try! Good luck and have a wonderful trip!
