Waitlist For Less Points--Should I Cancel At 31 Days?

I think I made a newbie mistake when booking a waitlist by selecting 7 days instead of 31. Good news is I am still outside of 31 days. We have an upcoming stay next month at Poly with the same dates waitlisted at Rivera but should that come through, it would be less points.

Unless I'm wrong, if the waitlist came through less than 31 days prior, the points difference would go into holding rather than back into my normal account. Am I right about this and should I just cancel the waitlist 31 days out to avoid holding?

You can modify the waitlist to change the expiration to 31 days. The expiration (31 or 7 days) is the only thing you can change without cancelling it.
