We have a cruise booked for May 2005. We wanted the early seating, but were put on a waitlist for that. We have a 7 year old and an infant. Has anyone had the same experience and were able to get the early seating? Also, can you request aa table for just 4 or do they always put you with a larger group?
Thanks for the advice?

We were waitlisted for early seating on our last cruise and found out when we checked in that we got early. We are also waitlisted on our upcoming cruise for early seating and are hoping for the best!!

I saw many different size tables in the dining rooms, and many for four. So yes, you can request your own table.

We were wait listed for our 1st cruise and when we checked in we were already had first! :)

We have first again for the upcoming cruise, but that is because we booked 13 months ahead.

We were waitlisted for our Aug cruise and got 1st seating. Be sure to look at your KTTW card, it will tell you in the bottom corner. I did not think to look and the CM didn't mention it when we checked in, we were so surprised when we went to late seating dinner to be told we had EARLY seating! Ofcourse they were so sweet and found us a table (there were 7 of us) but we were quite :o embarrased!

Hi: I'm waitlisted for early dining for the 6/16/05 Wonder I'm traveling with an 8 year old with a disability who cannot wait until 8pm or later to eat. I read a thread on the DIS boards about a month ago about a family who had late seating but wanted early seating. Either the head server or dining room manager contacted them each day to let them know which table to go to for early seating. Some cruisers opt out of rotational dining for many reasons -- Palo, room service, Topsiders/Beach Blanket, etc. therefore there will be empty or near empty tables.

We were also wait listed for early and we got it when we boarded. If you don't see it on your KTTW card, go to dining changes once you board and see if they can help you out.

Good luck.

Jan,

You may be able to get early dining based on medical conditions. I just found out about this yesterday......

My mother just booked with DCL this week and has pretty severe diabetes. She was also waitlisted for early dining. She mentioned to her TA that late dining would make it hard for her to maintaining blood sugar levels and the TA said she could get a medical excuse to automatically be put in early dining. Anyway, the TA got a form from DCL that needs to be completed and signed by her doctor and sent back to DCL

So, it might be worth a call to DCL or your TA (whoever you booked with) to ask for this form. It would give you a lot of peace of mind to know that your dining situation is taken care of in advance.

We just completed the same form. We only booked on Friday for the 11/21 Wonder cruise and late dining was the only thing available. I certainly didn't mind the late time as we had it on our last cruise, however DH was recently diagnosed with Type II diabetes and needs to eat at the same time each day.

My TA had me complete the form, we had the doctor sign it and faxed it over to Disney.

Good luck!
