waitlist chances

Dh and I are looking to go to bcv dec2 to dec 11. We called ms today and there isn't much availability for that week. We are currently booked at ssr. Should I take the days they have on Monday when I can book and waitlist for the rest? Do I leave the rest of my ressie at ssr? WhAt are my chances this time of year

I have never had waitlist success during a December trip. I would keep my entire SSR reservation knowing that you have somewhere to stay. Even if SSR isn't your cup of tea, you're still in Disney World over the Holidays!

Have to agree with Chic - it's a long shot.

If it were me, I'd waitlist the entire trip at BCV and then hope for the best. The good news is that you already have a reservation so yu know you will have a place to stay. Good luck!

The availability is low that week because of the Annual Membership meeting. Lots of members go down for the decorations and special events and the meeting.
Last December my sister used my points to take her grandson. She wanted the first week but everything was booked. The day after the meeting there was much more availability so I was able to get her a week starting the day after the membership meeting. Keep the waitlist because you never know what might come up.
And if you don't mind a split stay tell MS that you will split the stay between SSR & BCV.
It seems that whenever I let my sister use my points without me she ends up at SSR.
If I am booking with only a short window (less than 6 months) I always keep my options open and take what is available. And that way when I couldn't stay at OKW I ahve been able to experience other resorts!
I have never had a bad room or bad stay at any DVC resort!

Good luck! That first week of December is a tough week to get into something at the 7 mo. window. I've always used a home resort 11 mo. window when booking any time within the first 2 weeks of December.

Thanks. So because of the meeting, my hopes of switching to BCV or BWV are slim? Granted being "stuck" at BLT isn't a bad thing, but we do love being able to walk home from Epcot.
