Waitlist chances for first weekend in November?

My daughter just found out she qualified for an international singing competition in Orlando. I couldn't believe there are no studios at all open for that weekend. I've waitlisted at OKW and SSR thinking those might be the most likely to open up. We are very new to DVC, so I have no idea how likely this waitlist is to come through. Anyone have any experience with this time of year? or any suggestions as to a better place to put my waitlist request?

No suggestions as to a better place but that weekend is the wine and dine half Marathon so my guess is that many people may also be waitlisted ahead of you. Unfortunately studios usually book up at 7 months for that weekend from my recollection (the past few years at least). Since F&W is also going on I’d guess that BC and BWV have long wait lists. Since Poly has a lot of studios that might be a good possibility too. I’d suggest checking the RAT often as well. You may be able to grab the dates yourself

Good luck. That’s a very busy weekend as mentioned and also Jersey week too. I booked that weekend at the 11 month window, esp because of the marathon. I agree, watch the RAT. Esp. AK Kidani studios too.

Race weekends are pretty much the hardest to get all year-- even many of the cash resorts are already sold out (every All Star, Pop Century, POR, POFQ, half the deluxes). I would wait list the nights individually to improve your odds and stalk the RAT.

All studios have been gone for that weekend since right at 7 months - and many were gone before that. SSR is the most likely and I'd waitlist both views there vs having one waitlist at OKW and the other at SSR. People do cancel so it's possible you might get it. Good luck!

I just figured out that the 1/2 marathon was that weekend as well. That explains the lack of rooms. I was shocked when there was nothing available, but now it makes sense. I will keep stalking the RAT.

The only problem is you can only have 2 waitlists. Hmmmm... wonder if that is a better strategy? I was lucky to possibly get the last room at Art of Animation as a back up if no DVC rooms come available. But you are right, the inventory of cash rooms was very low as well.

That used to be pretty easy to snag, but ever since they did the races that weekend, it tied everything up....Probably around 4 or 5 years now I think... Still an awesome time of the year to go though. Good luck with your waitlists.
