Waitlist at SSR/OKW or holdout for BWV

I currently have partial DVC reservations for the New Year's holiday. I am currently waitlisted for 12/30,31 and 1/1 for a 2br at BWV. (have been waitlisted since Feb.) We have a cash reservation elsewhere, but really want to stay DVC so that we can use the meal plan. Here's the question...should I waitlist at SSR (or elsewhere) or hold off for awhile to see if the BWV comes through for me? I don't really want to stay at SSR or OKW, but I probably have a better chance there. However, if I wait too long to ask for any available 2 br, I could be out of luck. The DVC person I spoke with about 2 weeks ago said that I should wait until Oct!!! then put my waitlist in for SSR. She said that if I do it now, I'm be sure to get SSR and have no chance elsewhere. Thoughts???

Book it! SSR or OKW...better to have a back up plan then get stuck with nothing. Why not book something and still be waitlisted?

There is no disadvantage to booking your 2BR at SSR within the 11-7 month window, as opposed to just waiting for the 7th month window. The earlier you book, the better your chances of getting the SSR 2BR. You can then waitlist with something secured. Leave it for 7 and you might lose both your resort options.

"... sure to get SSR and have no chance elsewhere" makes NO sense.
