Waitlist and Point Allocation ???

Please try to follow along...I may confuse myself...

If I book this stay...
...Saturday in a standard studio at AKV (14 points)
...Sunday-Saturday in a P/G 1BR at BWV (179 points)

...and I use these points...

...28 banked AKV points...
...50 banked HHI points...
...100 current AKV points...
...15 current HHI points...

...THEN, I waitlist for all 7 nights in a standard 1BR at BWV (166 points) and some miracle happens and it fills. Since it is LESS points, will I have to call MS to make sure that the 166 points are used like this?....

...28 banked AKV points...
...50 banked HHI points...
...88 current AKV points...
(==> I want to use AKV points BEFORE using any HHI points)

One more question...

If I book the first reservation noted above and do it online at 8am, can I call back at 9am and have MS allocate the 1 banked BWV point that I have left over from a transfer and return one of my current AKV or HHI points? I don't want to have to wait until 9am to call because that will hurt my chances of getting the reservation and put me further down the waitlist if it is already full.

I assumed you are booking at the 7 month window and that your waitlist is set to expire at 31 days (so that you don't have to worry about points going into holding).

Given those assumptions:
1. Yes, if the waitlist fills, you should call MS and make sure the points were "re-used" according to your wishes.
2. Yes, MS should be able to reallocate to use the lonely transferred point and return a current use year point of your choosing.

It has been my experience that when a waitlist fills, MS cancels the "old" reservation and just randomly pulls points for the "new" reservation. I have had MS throw all of my old points into holding and pull all new points when a waitlist fills. I have been amazed at how my points have been messed up when changing around reservations. I do have 4 separate contracts, so it does mess up some CM's.

My advice is to watch your waitlist and if it comes thru, call MS and have them allocate the points the way you want them. Ask for a supervisor if needed, as I have had CM's tell me that I had no say in which of MY points that I wanted to use at the 7 month mark.

Yes, you should be able to call and have the transferred points used at 9:00, when MS opens.

They should use the banked points first but as for which current points is variable. You should be able to call and get them adjusted but you'd want to do so at least 31 days before the first day of the new reservation. You might have some luck telling them ahead of time how you'd prefer they pull the points.
