Waitlist and check-in?

If we do on-line check in, will it automatically eliminate the waitlist? We're within the time for check-in, but our waitlist is for up to 7 days in advance. I'm wondering if it would be best to just wait until 7 days in advance. We're confirmed for a studio at BCV, and waitlisted for a 1 BR. So our requests would be the same. I'm just wondering if there's a disadvantage of waiting until 7 days out, because I don't want to have the waitlist cancelled.

I don't think the waitlist will be cancelled if you do online check-in, but I don't know for sure - perhaps MS knows.

That said, I can't think of any advantage to doing online check-in ahead of time by more than a few days, so what's the harm in waiting if you really hope your waitlist will work?

Also, if you check or type anything in the request section, it will overwrite any request you may have given to MS. I always skip that section because the options really don't apply to DVC reservations. I prefer giving my requests to MS - they have the ability to type something specific

Great! But just in case,I was thinking of waiting until within 7 days to do the on-line check in. Would there be a downside to just waiting?

No downside to waiting that I've ever heard of. We are waitlisted too for bcv studio for one night in October. Losing hope here. Been on the waitlist 6 months now....just one night shouldn't be this hard.
