We made our 11 month ressies @ VWL for the week of Christmas, hoping to switch to BWV @ 7 months. Only the first 4 days were available, and we don't want to switch midstay....would it be better to waitlist the entire BWV week (to avoid switching midstay) or book the 4 avail. days and waitlist the remaining 3?

I keep thinking it is more likely the 3 remaining days will open up than the entire week...but I have been know to overlook/miss logical arguments in my thinking process before, and thought some of you with experience would be able to guide me.

I am obviously new to waitlisting procedures, and any advice will be appreciated and taken into consideration...:dance3:

In this all-or-nothing system, a shorter waitlist would have a better chance of getting filled than a longer waitlist. (because all days have to be available before they grant your wailtist) You may actually have a better chance taking the 4, and regularly call back and if day 5 opens, take it and W/L 6 and 7 (As a shorter waitlist)...

But the only guaranteed way to stay in a single resort without a transfer is waitlist for all 7 and do not switch until they are all available. Only you can decide how agrivating a split stay may be to you.
Now the waitlist process is less than perfect and you can actually increase your chances by regularly caling back and asking MS to check for you...
On the other hand, I almost bet there is a BWV owner with that week and would love to switch to VWL, but I'm not sure how you'd pull that off...

I agree! VWL is highly sought after close to Christmas! I am also not sure how you could pull it off, but you may want to start a new thread, you never know.

That really depends on how set against moving mid-stay you are. If you really are set against it, I would just waitlist the full 7 days and hope for the best. BUT, if you wouldn't mind switching mid-stay, go ahead and book your BWV days and see what happens in a month or two. For what it's worth, many people have reported success in getting days by calling MS every week or so to check on availability and adding days as they come available, and using the waitlist system more as a back-up. Either way, I wish you the best of luck! :goodvibes
