Due to a change in plans by a family member, I will no longer need a two bedroom that I have booked at OKW for these dates. We need a studio, but I understand that there aren't any available for these dates. If you are cancelling I would love to know that there might be hope for us.

My other question is...do you think there's a chance using the day by day waitlist 45 days out?

this may be a dumb question to go with yours, but aren't most 2 bedrooms a studio and a 1 bedroom, so wouldn't it be pretty easy to downgrade? Have you asked member services?

I REALLY hope you can downgrade! I am on the waitlist for the night of June 27th for a 2-bedroom at OKW. I have the other 5 nights I need, but am missing the one in the middle(Wednesday!). I am *hoping* that some DVCer's are waiting to 31 days out to cancel their reservations for that week. I have decided I am not going to panic until then!

You will probably have SSR come thru. They will be opening a few new bldgs by then and those rooms will be released for booking upon completion.

Many dont understand SSR availability and think that it is so big that it doesnt fill, but the reality is, that SSR has been adding inventory monthly since the first 4 bldgs opened. It is a great option for last minute changes or trips that will go away when the resort is finished.

I would get on the waitlist for all resort studios:wizard:

As for downgrading a lockoff, DVC wont do it, unless it was booked separate as a studio and a 1 bedroom. The 2 bedroom will be released to the waitlist for others waiting on a 2 bedroom. One reason they do this, is to prevent bookings of larger units eating up a large part of the inventory, and then cancellations leaving a glut of 1 bedrooms at the last minute.

Good luck with your waitlist, we will be at SSR that week also!
