What would you do? I called yesterday and this morning and told her exactly what I wanted. I haven't heard back since I spoke with her at 8am. I emailed her too. She did tell me she would work on it this morning. It is a transfer from one cruise to another. I booked the first cruise though her. Should I keep waiting? Should I call Disney myself? Not even sure I can call Disney to change it if I booked though her? :confused3 I am just nervous that the price will rise before she books it. What would you do?

I have not heard from my TA either, but I went on the DCL website to look up my reservation and saw that it had changed to exactly what I wanted. I can't see a price, but it has room# and itinerary. I then went and selected the cruise & category to get a price to see what it would cost w/out my OBB discount.

Hmm. Ok. Maybe I will try that. Starting to get nervous!!!!

You really can't judge a TA by their response time today. DCL is slammed and their confirmation system is backed up once again, just like it was yesterday. Your TA can't send you a confirmation email until they receive it from DCL. The opening days are always crazy.

I'm right there with you. I've emailed my TA a few times over the past few days to specify the date I wanted to change my cruise to.. zero direct responses.

I get an email this morning saying they were trying to switch my cruise to some other date.. I'm pulling my hair out here as the rooms I wanted are slowly disappearing online :(

I found my reservations by checking my CC account yesterday. My TA specializes in Disney so I knew that she would be slammed with requests right now. I don't expect my actual confirmations to be sent until she gets everyone booked (most important part). As long as you can see the bookings in your Castaway Club account, you are fine :thumbsup2

Same here, I can check my reservation online and see it's changed, but I haven't actually heard from her. I figured she's probably working on changing everyone first and will then go through emails after everyone has their wanted cruises.

A TA is serving multiple people. In order to serve them best, he/she will get on the phone and do all the requested changes immediately one after the other. THEN the confirmations will get sent out. So you may not get a confirmation until this afternoon, but the change would have been made first thing.

Also, as what happened yesterday, changes were made and confirmed but DCL themselves did not send out the confirmations immediately because their output system backed up due to workload. The TA can't send you a confirmation if DCL has not sent it out.

Ok. Thank you!! Good to know. I won't worry yet then. :) I logged into my old account and found one reservation there that did get changed. I am assuming that means the second room must have a different reservation #. Which is fine. Going to relax now knowing it is most likely done. Thanks for talking me off the ledge!

For future reference, who would you recommend?
I use www.*************.com.

I called them yesterday, they answered the phone on the second ring, I was on the phone for less than five minutes with my request for two cruises using placeholders, and those cruises later appeared in my Castaway Club account.

I'm also disappointed in my TA. I asked to have an OBB moved to the 2 night San Diego into an 11C two days ago, and by the time my TA got around to it this morning all the 11C's were gone. The reason? "I've been on hold with Disney since exactly 8 am and no one has picked up the phone yet".

I find it hard to believe that, in 2013, travel agents don't have a website to book cruises from..... are they all really having to sit on the phone while everyone that books direct with Disney can just go to their web browser and book it in less than five minutes???

In the end, I keep my OBB discount, but have to pay more money for a "better" category interior room. I would have much preferred to be in the 11C.

Oh well. *grumble*

In the past, there have been problems with booking and transferring online the first day cruises were available online. There were issues with the server yesterday for DCL CS reps. A couple years ago I had to call because the website wouldn't process the payment. It is much quicker for TAs to call in to make multiple client reservations/transfers.

Unfortunately, no one was able to book the new cruises online yesterday. The only way to take advantage of the Platnum and Gold early booking was to call (and many people booking directly with DCL also reported long wait times on the phone).

Today it is opened for everyone so it is much easier to book by just going to the website.

TAs had to call in like everyone else. When new stuff like this come out folks need to be patient. When my TA heard of what was coming out, she sent emails to all her clients to see who wanted to change bookings, who wanted new bookings extra. She had it all lined up for when booking started. While on hold, she also checked emails for anymore who wanted to book.

Disney now only allows TAs to be on the phone with a CM for a certain period of time then they are disconnected. When she is getting close to the time limit she gets on her other line and starts calling in to get in the hold que.

As a side note - I didn't think you could use OBB discounts for 2 day cruises. I guess you might get the 10% but I know you don't get the OBC for that length of cruise. Or at least you didn't last summer when they were running the 2nights out of New York.

Well my TA came through!!! We are booked and super excited. I am so thankful. And I think she got us some great rooms too! :thumbsup2
