waiting list....

We booked our 11/06 DVC vacation today. We reserved a one bedroom at the VWL, but wanted a two bedroom. The very helpful rep suggested we put ourselves on the waiting list, so we did.

Do we have a shot at a two bedroom?

We wanted a two-bedroom for the 5th through the 12th, but they were already gone. We took a two-bedroom lock-off and are waitlisted for the other. They say that you have a chance, but I don't know. When are you going? The closer to the holiday the lesser the chance I would guess. Good Luck.

The one bedroom will be great, but the two bedrrom would have been even better.

That's a busy time for the DVC resorts. There are lots of members from New Jersey and as you of course know, that week includes the NJ teachers' state-wide meetings as well as the Veteran's Day Holiday. Seems lots of you come to WDW that week!

There's always a chance when you waitlist, but yours is more of a long shot than waitlists for most other fall dates.

I've had pretty good luck on waitlists for the bigger resorts (OKW & BWV). I have never waitlisted for one of the smaller resorts.

I did make it a habit of calling and "checking in" with the DVC folks ever once in a while when I was waitlisted. I would get into a nice conversatin, tell them how much I wanted to stay there etc. Maybe it didn't help, but in my mind, it couldn't hurt!!!

Also, I think you're waitlisted until like 30 days before or something, then you have to keep calling. I forget exactly what the rules are, so doublecheck that.

Last October, I waitlisted a 2BR at BWV for during the F&W Festival. Little by little my days came through, all except for the first day of our vacation. I called them, literally, the day before we were going to leave, and I got that day too!!!! We would have had to stay at OKW for the first night otherwise, which would certainly have been fine, but it was nice not to have to move.

I thought I would also mention that you may ask for a 2 bedroom lock-off. That is what we have and it is generally the same thing. Cost the same as 2 bedroom also. We are going basically during the same time and they said they had a couple of those left when I started calling a couple of days ago.

I assume a lock off is a 1br and a studio next to one another with a connecting door, right? Do you mean to tell me that if I wanted a 2br at BWV and I was told there are none, that CM doesn't look to see if the lock off exists? I don't care if its a true 2br or not?

It depends on the cm. When I first called they told me there were no 2-bedrooms and then he sai "wait, let me check something else" and found the lock-off. I would try calling back and just ask. Good luck.

i have waitlisted on 2 occasions and both times they have come through. The last time was for a memorial day week stay and it happened two weeks before we arrived. Good luck

I think ALL 2brs at BWV are lock-offs (a 1br and studio unit with a connecting door). I'm pretty sure that there are no dedicated 2brms there.

You are correct. I just had this conversation with a CM yesterday. We are BWV owners and assumed all DVC 2brs were studio + 1BR. She informed me that BWV is the only resort without dedicated 2brs. On another note, we too are on the waitlist for VWL 2 br November 5-11. Let's hope we all get what we want! Of course we have a 2br at BWV so we won't be too disappointed!
