waiting list for connecting cabins

Have any of you guys wanted connecting rooms but they were ALL sold out? We can't change our cruise date....that's definate. We are doing our first cruise ever with our 4 kids---10yrs to 3yrs. Right now we are booked for 2 side by side cat 9 rooms thru DU. We are wait listed for cat 9 connecting rooms, but would take any connecting rooms. Our date is Jul 24 so I'm hoping for some cancellations when the final payment is due. I have kept calling Disney and having them check all categories, still nothing. DU said they could only put us on the "list" for that specific cat. Any suggestions on scoring connecting cabins? Thanks
