Waiting is the hardest parts

Finally planning to tell my kids this coming weekend that we are going in June. It is our first trip. We were talking about some other travel plans (for next year) and my little one piped with with "Can we go to Disney World sometime?". I've been planning this since about September - so the waiting has been absolutely killing me. Waiting to book ADRs, waiting to make a final decision about a resort (I had a work conference at the GF a couple of months ago and looked at all of the monorail resorts one afternoon to help me decide), now waiting to tell the kids, and waiting for FP to open up. The last two are happening soon (and telling my kids will be the BEST part), and I know that the rest of the school year is going to fly and we will be there before I know it. Getting ready to flip from "will this trip never come" to "oh my gosh, the kids need summer clothes that fit" in a minute...

about 26 days till I leave. Time flew when it was in the triple digits. It seems to crawl slower and slower the closer you get.

I agree, it's 28 days to go for me, and I just got the notice this morning that my Magic Band shipped out, which just made me excited all over again. :)

I also agree about time going slower - we are 40 days out. After I made FP+ reservations things really started to crawl.

We started at POR....changed to CBR....then to Boulder Ridge Villas and finally to a studio at AK Jambo House So I guess I am on my 4th resort, only changed 3 times also. Just seems like more! I think we are settled here although I am still debating a standard savannah view rather than the studio savannah. Not sure about the view on the 5th floor.

I am a resort changer too - started at Wilderness Lodge and just switched two weeks ago to the Contemporary. Hoping we made the right move.

We start our planning, and our anticipation, 11 months out because we stay at the Boardwalk on rented DVC points and Epcot resort rooms go fast for Food & Wine dates. Because of this there are numerous milestones as out time approaches. Got our Nov dates last Dec., booked a Sleep n' Fly in PHL, made and cancelled 4 car reservations over the last 2 months settling for a Dollar mid sized for 10 days at $197, I still check them and Alamo daily. Booked our SW flight down on March 16, on May 18 we'll get the return. After that there will be the purchase of park hoppers from UT, making ADRs at 180 out then FP choices.

So..... there's always something to do that brings the trip a little closer. Fortunately out whole extended family spends 10 days in Myrtle Beach SC late June - early July so that occupies us.

It's so hard. I love the planning.....but I hate the waiting. I'm still in triple digits too (145 days......ugh.) I always plan at least 6 months out (and usually longer in my head) because I like to do my ADRs right at 180 days and then change them around 500 times..... But, that 6 month wait is really torture. It's probably ideal to start planning say, 2-3 months out, but then you give up getting the perfect ADRs you want at the precise moment you want it. You know....that ideal 5:30 dinner vs. that terrible, horrible 5:15 dinner

For me the last 30 days is the absolute worst. I'm super excited, but this is when pre-trip anxiety creeps in, and I start worrying about someone getting sick at the last minute, or anything else that could throw a monkey wrench into our plans. It drives me crazy! I can't relax until the day we depart.

Yes! Every time I hear a sneeze I start to worry if we're coming down with something. Then I crazily start hoping to get sick now so I'll be over it in a month o_O
