My DH, DS13 and DS10 love to play games. Any good games or fun things you can suggest while waiting in line?

I took those Brainquests once, they were great, but got heavy carrying after awhile.

Thanks :)

We often play, "I Spy With My Little Eye"... Helps kids with colors, shapes etc.

In case you dont know this game it goes like this:

Me: I spy with my little eye...something brown (or square or whatever)

DK's: Ummmm...is it that tree?

Me: Nope

DK's: Is it that kids shorts?

Me: YES!

then it's the winner's turn to be the "I spy". Good for passing the time in bus lines, ride lines, or anytime the little buggers are antsy!!!
Either that or I keep a bottle of good quality bubbles(Gymboree is great!!!) in the diaper bag for when my toddler gets bored. Cant use them too much or their not as cool.

There is a book out called Disney Trivia. I love it and everyone can get involved in playing it. There are two books total and they are not heavy just tall.

I like taking Tarot cards (have someone pick a card from the pack and then read their fortune) and Trivial Pursuit cards to ask trivia questions. Tarot cards come in their own pack, but TP cards you may have to just stick in a plastic baggie. Also good, I Spy (for kids) or I Spy a Hot Guy (for teens and adults - played that one a lot with my friends when I was a CP), which of course can be amended to allow Hot Girls.

We had 0-5 min. wait times so many times we often didn't even have time to take notice of the theming leading to the ride. Sort of a downside to doing the FastPass thing as efficiently as possible. Makes ya want to take the long route as long as the wait isn't more than 10-15 min (I've gotten SO spoiled this week!)

I Spy is always good then there's the Alphabet Game which goes something like:

My name is Al and
I'm from Alaska and
I sell Apricots

Just work your way thru Z. :)

You're leaving in 5 days!!
Have a BLAST

I'll be thinkin' of you....tell Mickey I said "HI"

Last week we had little or no wait for rides--my hubby plays a game he and the kids made up called --math or spelling--when it is their turn they say math or spelling and he then gives them a math problem to solve or a word to spell--it keeps them busy and they love it---I know, I know--I am a teacher what can I say :thumbsup2

My favourite game in the whole wide world - the "country game" (or any other geography term - cities, states, provinces, bodies of water). You begin with a term (Canada) and the next person must begin his or her answer with the last letter (A = Amsterdam) then the next person (M = Mexico). You can't repeat a term or you are out.

Or name countries from east to west without going backwards (Canada, France, Italy, Russia, United States of America). You keep circling the world.

Or backward skip counting (begin at 118 and count down by 3).

Or look at a nearby sign and try to create as many words from the sign (for example, Swiss Family Robinson = robin, son, sin, in, bin, win, fin).

Have fun!

I have 2 suggestions of games that I play with my boyfriend/friends all the time.

The first is 20 questions. We usually play Disney 20 questions so I'll say "Ok I have a character." And then he'll ask 20 yes/no questions to try to guess the character I'm thinking of. "Is it a male? Is it animated?, etc."

The second I like to call categories. Someone will pick a category and we'll go back and forth saying something in the caterogy. When you can't think of anymore, whoever said the last one wins. An example of some categories would be "Disney Princesses" or "Things that are yellow." Can be anything really.

Have fun!

2tinksmom - your husband's pictures looks so cute...he looks so entertaining while waiting in line!

If your kids are older (or for any adults reading this) We often play "the name game" You use famous people's names and someone starts off, the next person must name someone who first name begins with the first letter of the previous persons last name. IE if I say Mel Gibson, the next person could say Gary Coleman, and then Candace Bergin, and then Bert Reynolds.

We play this game kind of a lot when we go and are waitimg in lines. It is fun, and we always argue over the people who are names are actually celebrities. I can remember playing this game all day in MGM one day!

I love these ideas....I'm a :teacher: too....so I'm all about keeping that brain active!!!

Oh and 2TinksMom.....is your hubby available in November....he looks like LOADS of FUN!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks you guys...he is a hoot and keeps the kids entertained. Unfortunately, he's booked the week of Nov. 17-24...he'll be keeping us in stitches! Sometimes, tho, I have to tell him to take it down a notch!

We take the cards from our Disney Trivia board game and read them in line and while waiting for the parades. The people around us have gotten involved in answering the questions also--great way to meet people.

Looking for Hidden Mickey's always passes the time. Most of the queue lines have a lot of them.

I usually play the alphabet game with Disney characters, but always get screwed up at X.... Yzma and Zeus are always my last two. ;)

MAD LIBS!! You can get them at any big book store. They come in many different subjects. (I have Scooby Doo Mad Libs!) The back page is cardboard so you always have a hard surface to write on, just need a pen. Good entertainment for others in line too who are listening in!

If you don't know what a Mad Lib is, it's a book with a collection of stories, each a couple paragraphs long. Every few words are left out, with a blank it its place, and it tells you what type of word (noun, adjective, verb, etc...). One person asks/writes and everyone else fills in the words without knowing what the story is about. Then read it outloud, it's usually HILARIOUS!!
