Waiting for shareholders...

We applied to become shareholders last week and bought the shares then sent all the necessary paperwork to them via email.

We spoke to the shareholder dept last week and they confirmed they had all the right paperwork and could send us a temporary certificate to take on holiday while we waited for the card to arrive.

She sent us an email which we have printed out confirming we are members and what our number is but still haven't got the certificate through the post.

If it doesn't turn up can we take all the other paperwork and the email with the number on with us instead?

and

Is a week or so usual to wait until we receive post from the shareholders club, as she said she would definitely post it off that day?

Starting to get worried now as our ticker is counting down fast!!!

when in a similar position a couple of years ago they faxed us through a letter which was accepted everywhere so I'd ask them if they can do that as the post is so bad due to the weather.

Yes she said she could fax it to us when we spoke on the phone but we don't have a fax machine. Think we may ring again and try and get them to fax it to my husbands work, he only goes in to the actual office now and again but will be there tomorrow.

I'd get them to fax it - I used a free trial of a fax to email software to do ours and the lady faxed it (to my email) while I was on the phone

I got my shareholders club renewal through 5 weeks ago and I am still waiting for my card to arrive. Over a week ago I sent an email asking for a temporary certificate to be sent in the mean time. They asked for my fax number which I gave and have yet to recieve a fax. I sent another email 5 days ago asking for it to be posted out and I have yet to hear back from them either by email or by getting the certificate by mail. I hope you are able to get your certificate through quicker than I appear to be getting mine! I'm going to email them again tonight to ask what is happening.

I think we may look into the email/fax trial thing or we did wonder if we rang the day or so before we get there and ask them to fax to the disneyland hotel direct it could be there for us when we arrive. We would have to let the hotel know we were going to do that I suppose but it could be a possibility, i hope

Whoooo. I got mine today too, in the end I phoned them up and they faxed it to me straight away. Aparently I should have my real card next week sometime!

This Shareholder club sounds fantastic - Does anybody know how I would buy shares here in Ireland and how many would I need to buy to become a member of the shareholders club?

Yay great to hear others have received their cards or certificates they are waiting for too

You have to buy at least 20 shares (think we got 21 to make sure we had got enough) to ensure you don't have to pay an admin charge every year, I think.

We got all the info we needed on how to buy them on the shareholders thread which is on this forum. I think as long as you open a share dealing account which alows you to trade on the french market you can buy them wherever you live

Whooo, my card arrived today, almost 6 weeks after my confirmation email arrived!

Yay that's great Can't wait to get our actual card but the certificate will have to do for our trip next week.
