Waiting for August Hours - All hours are up!!

Wait, you have a trip pack already and you're going when? This is problem going to sound the wrong way but how do you do it? I've got 3 teens and I'm so busy trying to run around with their lives I can't even imagine trying to pack a bag for a trip 3 months out. I'm still trying to figure out what's going to happen over the summer. I'm impressed.

I think she means activities and helpful hints, stuff like that. Papers, mostly. Not clothes and stuff. Can you imagine a teen without some of their clothes for three months? :rotfl:
(I can say this because I am one, :goodvibes)

Yeah, that's what I meant. :) A big document in Word. Stuff to hopefully keep them interested during the wait at the airport and the airplane ride. Including things I take for granted like FastPass, CM's, etc. (yeah I could buy them a book, but it's more fun to write it out myself! Plus, I can keep it shorter) and some word search puzzles I found online. I figure that if I start it now, I can actually get it done and looking semi-cute by Aug. :rotfl:

Plus I don't have kids of my own so I have more free time than parents I know. (taking my 2 nieces: :flower3: princess:)

And still no hrs?!?

BelleBway... I am going in August also./..I love the idea of making games and puzzles for the kids for the trip... I have six teens going. Would you share some of your ideas and resources with me???;)
thank you,
Laura

Free time.......I almost remember having that before children. ;)

Your nieces are very lucky to have such a cool aunt.

Okay, I just called 407WDISNEY and the lady I spoke to said she has no idea when those hours will be posted. Argh! She did in fact confirm tomorrow is the opening of my 90 day window.

I wonder if I'll be safe planning my ADRs around the same hours as the last week of July. I'm going to be so upset if I miss out on Chef Mickey's again this year because of calendar changes.

Our travel dates are August 1 - August 8. I'm trying to get very late b-fast ressies for Ohana and Chef Mickey's for 2 separate days. I want to coordinate those with early EMHs of Magic Kingdom and Epcot. The rest of my ADRs I can really be flexible with since we'll have park hoppers and only 2 of my choices are actually inside parks.

I am with you! I am going to be there from Aug 11-20 and I want to know magic hours and times so I can book reservations and plan where I am going to be.

I hate to suggest double booking, but they're not leaving you much choice. If I had to do my adr's tomorrow without the hours, I would be scheduling extra adr's and then canceling them as soon as I know the final schedule. No flames please:)

You can also go to wdwinfo.com and put in your August dates. They will give you projected times for August. There are no guarantees, but it may be helpful. August is not a drop down selection. You have to manually put in your dates. Hope this helps.

It wouldn't be as bad of a wait if I still couldn't make my ADR's. I don't mind the waiting part. If they're going to wait this late then they should move the ADR date down to like 80 or 75 days ahead.

Well guys no park hours yet my I just looked at my calender and did the math

MAY 3 (sunday) is actually the be 90 days out that they post so this maybe one of those times that Disney is sticking to that rule ....Sorry

For the puzzles, I just googled Disney Word Search and found a bunch. I also tried googling for Crosswords, but I thought those were mostly too advanced for them; the 11 yr old may have been able to handle them but not the 8 yr old. Also found some a disney princess word scramble, but I can probably make some more of those on my own.

I'm trying to minimize the "How much longer til we get there?" questions. Although I am sure I will still get them anyway. :rotfl: I have to remember that a 2.75 hr plane ride is a long flight to a kid who has never flown anywhere.

Your nieces are very lucky to have such a cool aunt.

It goes both ways- I feel so very blessed to have these little (or not so little anymore!) girls in my life. They've taught me a lot about what is important in life. I've always brought them back souvenirs from my travels- including Tokyo and HK DL- and I am so beyond psyched to be able to introduce them to WDW!

And it's good for me because it is total motivation to keep hitting the treadmill--- I'm going to have to try to keep up with 2 energetic kids AND appear in public in a bathing suit. :rotfl:

This is rediculous. My plan was to utilize this weekend to organize my trip. I was literally counting the days until May 1st. This IS a huge upset!!! I don't understand what the harm is in posting advanced hours. Is two days really that much of a big deal to them. I personally feel it's more logical to post on the first day of the new month as opposed to 90 days out. Disney really needs to rethink this new system. This is really taking the magic away from my trip experience. BOO!!!

Since tomorrow is the 90 day mark, will the hours be available at 12AM eastern time???

I had been planning on using the weekend to double check my plans and so on, but I have until May 18 to make my ADRs. I feel bad for people who can make their ressies tomorrow and have no park hours for planning :(

I think, as Robo said, it's a lot to do with the economy. They let a lot of people go, and so there are probably less people doing more jobs. And they also are probably trying to cut back on costs, so they might be trying to figure out which nights they may close earlier, etc.

It definitely is a pain, but we've got to wait no matter what.

Speaking of waiting, BelleBway, are you doing anything to keep them busy in lines? I'm trying to think of fun, cute things that don't take up much (or any) space.

We play I spy, super fun :)

Still thinking about that... but they are little chatterboxes and I can imagine spending a decent amount of time rehashing previous rides/ discussing the next ride/ pointing out things in the queues. And if all else fails, I can bring up the topic of their Webkinz and they will be good for a looong time. :rotfl:

I'm more concerned with the waits for things like parades and Fantasmic- I am hoping I can get them to write or draw if they get bored... I am going to ask them to write or draw about each day's favorite things, and will have tons of art supplies in the room so they can make little scrapbook pages that I can put together later. (no, I've never officially scrapbooked before... just really want to have a homemade compilation that will last beyond the trip; and having an in room project a good way to ensure that I plan some down time and can be a good way to pass any rainy afternoons...) So maybe they can plan a little for that- thought I'm not bringing art supplies to the parks. They both love artistic projects, and the older one is quite a literate little writer.

And if all else fails, I will bribe them with food or pretty shiny things. :rotfl: But, realistically, they're 8 princess: and almost 12 :flower3: (will be turning 12 when we are there!), so they should be old enough to deal ok with lines.... and I expect them to be a little in awe of everything, at least at first, since they've never really been on a proper vacation. I'm more concerned with the time to travel down there which could seem excruciatingly long and tedious since we aren't there yet....

....and I should know from "excruciatingly long and tedious", cause that's how I feel now about the wait to get the Aug hrs posted. :lmao:

I realistically believe that the person in charge of posting hours is on these boards lurking and waiting for everyone to go completely crazy before they'll post.

 I bet it's Robo......................... :rotfl2: just kidding!! I hope not, otherwise that would be terribly sadistic! :headache:

This is exactly what I was thinking.
