Waited too Long!

I was trying to decide which of the 3 on-site hotels for 3 nights in Oct....was torn between Portofino and Hard Rock....always wanted to ry Hard Rock but because it was the weekend before Halloween figured it may be quite rowdy..and there was only a few dollar difference...but, waited too long and when I tried to book the AAA Rate at Portofino, there was no more standard rooms available at that rate.....

On the bright side, it made the decision easier

Don't give up. I would call once a week and check for cancelations. You have plenty of time.

I agree...Don't give up. I wanted the HRH for July. In September, when I started looking, there was a AAA rate. However, I kept waiting for APH rates, and by the time I got nervous and was ready to book , in mid January, they were gone. I wound up booking the RPH with a AAA rate.

When APH rates for the summer came out, I switched my reservation for the RPH from a AAA to the APH rate, but there was still no standard discounted room at HRH. On March 1, I was just checking, not expecting to find anything, and an APH (and AAA) rate came out for a standard room at HRH. There hadn't been one for months! I called and they were terrific about cancelling RPH and booking the HRH for me. It really pays to keep checking for the available discounted rates.

You can also check hotelkingdom.com, they often have availability when universal or loews has none.
