hey

Me and my partner have CBR booked for two weeks from 24th November 2019

Now I no the chances are Star Wars land will be open then but also I only just realised it’s thanks giving that week too

We are from Uk and we are going as our honeymoon and it will also be my partners bday when we are out there too

Didn’t really want to change the dates plus we have free dinning and when I look at other dates on the Uk site a lot is already fully booked

However do you think the wait times are just going to be crazy all over the parks. I mean is it going to be to the extent where it’s not enjoyable as you can’t really move and all the wait times are hours in all 4 parks

It’s costing us thousands and don’t want it to be the case where your only doing three rides a day or something

Anyway let me no what u think and if u would go or cancel ?

We don’t want to cancel as we just paid it off in full this month but at the same time we want it to be enjoyable

It will be busy. It's always busy by Thanksgiving. Not as bad as Christmas. It won't be horrible. Wait times will be long for the popular attractions. I'd say your looking at 90-120 minute waits on average for popular attractions.
If star wars land is open, then that should divert crowds from parks.
Also the resort will he decorated for Christmas which is real nice.

You have two weeks, so while it might be crazy at Hollywood Studios, you have plenty of time to make it a very enjoyable trip. There's a lot of good advice for how to use Fastpasses effectively, etc. on the boards. Star Wars Land opening is probably going to inflate crowds for a few years at Hollywood Studios, so may as well go when you are planning to and have fun!

It will be busy right around Thanksgiving, but low crowds during the other days. (At least outside HS.) You’ll be fine!

So you think even though Hollywood studios will be crazy the other parks may not be too bad ?

It’s just I’m hearing everyone going on about how crazy it’s all going to be and it’s making me think do you mean crazy as in two hour waits for say pirates of the carribean lol

Or is everyone meaning it’s more just Hollywood studios will be crazy. I think we will only be doing the rides at Star Wars land rides with a fast pass or we will probably leave it

We were going to do universal too so Mybe we should go there on thanks giving day or a water park as it might not be quite as bad

We have been over Thanksgiving 3 times and plan on going next year for Thanksgiving as well. The worst days will be Wednesday through Saturday Thanksgiving week. Before and after that, the crowds will not be that bad. Come Sunday and Monday after, the crowds will really thin out. When we go for Thanksgiving we usually do Tuesday-Tuesday with the last 3 days with not much crowds.

Mybe just do the water parks and universal those days

I just thought it might be crazy everyday in every park but sounds like it may not be as bad as I’m thinking and nothing worth cancelling over

If you will be there for 2 weeks then your first week will likely be busy but the second week is typically much, much slower. If you just manage your expectations, utilize rope drop on those busier days and get out of the park for the afternoon, get on to book your dining at 180 d and FP right at 60d then you should be fine. A great plan is the best way to combat crowds. I also advise to get a park ticket for everyday of your trip, arrival and departure days might not work but it depends on your flights. This will get you the most FP selections possible, which will ease planning. Don't forget they will have the candlelight processional going on during that time - you can book a special dining package for this so that you will have an easier time to get a seat.

If you have two weeks you will be fine. Just make good use of fastpasses and you will be guaranteed to ride all the popular rides at least once. last year we went the week after Thanksgiving and though sometimes it felt crowded we were able to do everything we really wanted and then some. Keep in mind it will be Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party season as well. So Magic Kingdom will close early to day guest on certain nights during your stay. Plan accordingly.

Yes, I agree with this. We've been over Thanksgiving twice '15 and '17, and will do so again next year or 2020. The worst are Thanksgiving itself and the few days after. But otherwise it's not all that bad. As to how Star Wars will effect it...who knows??? We were there for opening day of Toy Story Land last month. HS was pretty crowded, TSL was a madhouse, but MK wasn't bad at all (which is where we went after HS). I suspect Star Wars will be more popular than TSL, but I don't know it'll dramatically effect crowds in other parks. My guess, and it's purely that, is you'll be fine. While I'm interested to see Star Wars Land, we're very likely going to wait until summer 2020 to give the initial rush some time to quiet down even a tiny bit. I like Star Wars, but some of the hard core fans scare me.

So if I get a ticket for mickeys parade will the wait times that night not be much at all ?

Ah well sounds like we will be ok

Apart from thanks giving day itself and few days after. I'm thinking we might do a water park and universal on these days and hope the crowds there aren't as bad

So if I book dinning reservations and fast passes as soon as they come out should we get everything we want

Honestly, I don’t think you would have a hard time getting what you want. In 2016, for thanksgiving we went to Hoop Dee Doo Revue for dinner. Typically, we would always go to AK on thanksgiving, but this past year we went to Epcot on Christmas Day and it was not packed. Also, Black Friday used to be a no go on Black Friday, but since they are started the holiday festivities earlier in Epcot I don’t know if it will be as crowded. The hardest reservation you may have to get is anything in Epcot due to candlelight processional since they hold times. But for when you’re going, you shouldn’t have much of a problem.

All bets will be off if GE is opened in DHS. There will be no way to predict what the crowds will be. We also don't know when it will open. Right now the line is "Late Fall".

We have been going every year at Thanksgiving for years and while crowded, we know what to expect and plan accordingly. The decorations are beautiful and we find the folks there very friendly. I am planning a 2019 trip around the same time, but really, no one will be able to predict what will be.

Well sounds like we will just go for it, try and getting everything the day it comes out and just hope for the best

Mickey's Christmas party is worth doing once. Nice parade! Snow on main street, and the rides are almost all walk ons. It is the Sunday after Thanksgiving! 7pm - 12

Do you think the restaurants will all be easy enough to book at the 180 day mark

So if I want to book dinning reservations for all 14 days we are there do I need to log in 180 days before for each one. So at some point I would need to log in 14 days in a row if I want to book them all on opening day

Is it the same for the fast passes at the 60 day mark or can I book for all 14 days from the 60 day mark

You will be able to book 180 days plus 10, so you will have to log on 5 days in a row to fill out all 14 days. Also, in regards to the Christmas Party, if you go to the one on Tuesday, it should be less crowded than the one Sunday after Thanksgiving.
