I am looking to a book a split stay for Dec 1-Dec 3 (3 nights) . I am currently waiting on a new contract to be loaded into my account. The deed will be recorded early this week so I figure I have about 2-3 weeks before the points are in my account. I am going to use my other account to get a head start on waitlist btu I dont have any points left to borrow there. My question is this. If you were indifferent to the bottom resorts and just wanted to make sure you were able to secure one. Which of the two would you waitlist.

1. Boulder ridge
2. Copper Creek
3. BLT
4. Grand floridian
5 Jamba house ( prefer these the least)
6. Kidani Village ( prefer these the least)

Right now im booked with saratago springs with rental points but would prefer not to stay there becasue I have small kids and would like to be near the parks.

Chances for that time period are extremely low for any.

But if you have no points currently to fill a waitlist, there is no point setting it up.

If it filled before your new contract is loaded, they won’t hold it for you. It would be canceled.

Is this contract going to be a new membership? If it is, then the waitlist on your current one won’t work at all.

Out of the top four, I’d do a VGF Resort Studio PV and Kidani for a back up.

If the new contract is a new UY or with different owners, then it will be a new membership and a waitlist in the one you currently own won’t apply.

If this contract is going in the same membership, it might but if there are no points to be used to fill it. It makes no sense to set it up now.
Thanks I appreciate it . This is my first time using dvc . I find it odd there is no availability then which is consider low crowd and a lot more availabitt of Christmas which is considered the busiest time

DVC booking times are not the same. You will find that mid September to mid January is the busiest DVC time period and the hardest to book, especially studios.

First two weeks of December are some of the highest demand times for DVC bookings.

Owners traveling then book right at 8 am at 11 months.

That’s good to know . We just got out contract and this year we are doing the week after thanksgiving to see mickeys Christmas parade and next year I wanted to do the Halloween because the point values are so low.

One thing is though I heard the weather is horrible in September. This kinda scared me off and I was thinking of pushing to October, thoughts ?

Less humid for sure in October than September. But, the week if Columbus Day can be a bit more crowded than some of the mid to end of September weeks.

However, nothing compared to the heat in the summer!

As Sandi said, DVC demand is not the same as park attendance demand. DVC owners tend to want to book the lowest points cost villas (studios) at the lowest points cost times of year, which early December used to be (but isn't anymore).

Again I agree with Sandi - humidity will be lower in October, and if you wait until late October the risk of hurricanes is less as well. We prefer to visit between mid-October and early March, mostly for weather but also for park crowds.

Yeah its a hard call, im thinking the sweet spot might be late septemeber. Lower rsik of hurricanes than early, weather should be marginally better, low point costs and crowds will be low. The point chart really shoots up in October and according to crowd calendar septmeber is a better month. I am thinking 9/20/2026-9/26/2026. I know its long ways off and probably shouldnt even be thinking about it.

Depending on your home resort and what room you are talking about, some will need 11 month, 8 am booking to snag it!

I own points at Animal Kingdom Lodge and I watched all the studios go away for that time as the booking window opened in January. As has been said it is an extremely popular time for DVC bookings, especially at that resort. The parks aren't as busy buy everything is decorated for Christmas and point values are fairly low.
