Wait listed What are my chances

Well as of today the one day we needed has not come in. We are all beginning to get bummed here. But I do know we have lots of time yet. I have called to see if maybe a 2br or a lockoff unit would be able for some of our stay and I would change our ressie to that but the dates basically are all gone. Im loosing that magical feeling I originally had. I keep looking at the dvcmember website to see if that one date came in. I am becoming attached to the computer.

Our transferred points came through so I did what WDWCPAlumni did and booked the rooms that are currently availabe at OKW for a studio. I am missing the 19, 21 and 22. OH please oh please come through. I also found out that the beds at SSR and BWV are bolted to the floor with a wood frame all the way around. Those beds make those resorts impossible for my cousin to be at as the beds dont allow a lift under them. My cousin needs to transfer from an electric wheelchair to a bed by lift. I also wait listed for a 2br dedicated at OKW as well as a lockoff there to. I placed these on an automatic confirmation.

I am seeing some light at the end of the tunnel as the 18th of October was not available yesterday but was today.

Wisbucky, we stayed ar SSR in December and I believe DS's caregivers used his lift while we were their. We had a hc room. Maybe you should call the resort directly if you have any questions about use of equipment. That is what I did and received much better info than when i questioned MS. Whenever I called the resort with questions I was always transfered to someone in the know. I wander what is up with Thursday's, I am waitlisted for only thursday October 12th. Everything else was available when I called last thursday for October 10th - 15th. I was able to get a 1br at BWV. Susan

That is a very good question about the beds. I did call our DVC guide who in turn contacted someone at SSR and BWV to go in physically look at the beds. They were all bolted to the floor including the handicap rooms. I dont understand why either that Thursdays are so jammed up. I would of guessed Friday's or Sundays.

I called SSR and inquired once again about the beds and they had someone check and all the beds are bolted to the floor and the beds all have box frames on. Even the handicap rooms did.

Congratulations, Im very happy for you. We are still waiting for the 19th on a studio or for a 2bedroom to open up for the entire stay.

WHAT SHOULD I DO!!

I called MS today and they have a 2bedroom lockoff availabe for the 17th and 18th. That leaves us still hanging for the 19th. But I can leave the 1 bedroom booked for the 19th. Since we already have the 20- 25th for a 2bedroom lockoff and if I do book the 17 and 18th and the 19th does not come available then we will have to move twice. I am just not real keen on doing that. The 19th has been booked solid at OKW for over 3 weeks. I am not real sure what is going on that night and it is not a weekend night. I asked MS if we would have to move out of the lockoff entirely or if we could stay in the 1bedroom part until the following day. They indicated that they did not know. The other family members that are staying with us will have to stay off grounds on the 19th if a stuido or a lockoff does not open up. I just dont know if I should book the 17th and 18th or not. Any suggestions????

Today we were shocked. Our wait list for the entire stay in a 2br dedicated through. So we are all now in a 2br for Oct 17- 25th. For the past few months I have called hoping that we could get a 2br dedicated for Oct 17-19 and then we had a 2br lockoff from the 20 - 25th. The date that was the constant problem was the 19th. And has been numerous weeks the 19th just would not open up. I cant tell you how relieved and at the same time shocked I am.

I have been wait listed twice and both times I didn't get what I wanted. I would recommend having a back up plan. Sorry I hate giving bad news. I hope in this case you get the room you need.
