As of last week I called MS to be placed on a waitlist for a standard view at BWV's in a one bedroom. We have a ressie at OKW for the month of December. The request to MS was if a one bedroom standard view at BWV came available to automatically switch our ressie over. I then requested that if the preferred view at BWV came up to give us a courtesy call.

On Friday we had a message from MS. It was very garbled and all we could hear was the words waitlist, MS, and hear from you. I am under the impression that possibly the preferred view came available. I am going to call MS on Monday first thing and find out.

My question to everyone here is if the preferred view came available should I take it or should I keep holding out for the standard view. This call from MS may be something totally unrelated to our waitlist, but as I indicated we did hear the word "waitlist" in the message. In my last thread a comment was made about having several people ahead of us on the waitlist. So am I lucky if the preferred view did come available? And should I be thrilled that we got a one bedroom at BWV's and just take it?

I know that the preferred view is approx 34 more points. And hopefully someone here can explain to me the big difference between preferred and standard. I have heard people comment about having a preferred view but feeling it should be considered a standard.

We really don’t want to borrow any more points from next year. By taking the preferred view we would have to. But on the other hand we really want to stay at BWV's for this trip and since I have never been on a waitlist I really don’t know what our chances are of a standard opening up especially at Christmas time.

Can someone shed some light on this please?

The difference between a SV and a PV room at BWV is the view...nothing else. Oh, and the fact that the SV costs fewer points per night. If I were you, I'd hold out for SV before switching my reservations.

Remember, even with PV you might not be getting a Boardwalk View. Would you feel your extra points spent would be worth it if overlooking the canal, Luna Park pool or the quiet pool at BWV?

It's your call, but given your circumstances (borrowing), I'd probably hold out for the SV. Good luck! :)

I just got off the phone with MS and found out that a preferred view did come available for the garden view. I passed on it and requested to keep us on a courtesy call in case the boardwalk view came available. Otherwise we are still waitlisted for the standard view.

Im keeping my fingers crossed.

My preferred view was of the parking lot....a waste of points in my opinion. Hold out for the standard room if possible.

We have decided to hold out for a standard view. I was wondering has anyone had a ressie for a boardwalk view and the room they received was anything but.

If you have a BW view ressie, you will ONLY get a BW view. Good luck!
And they are all very nice. IMHO, other than S or NS, there's no need to make any other requests if you get a BW view!

Best wishes-

if you really wanted to stay at the BWV, you should have booked the preferred view, garden view and still be on the waitlist for the standard view.
especially when you are trying for ressies in Dec. low points the first half of the month, the second spending the holidays there are very popular. good luck.

Wow, that is a bummer. I was not aware that any PV's were parking lot!

To the Original Poster, I would have taken the preferred view and then waitlisted for the standard view. At least you would have been at BWV, which is your main intention for this trip, it seems.
