Wait List???????

We are new DVC'ers and I am learning!

I see quite a bit discussed on being on a wait list. Can one of you please fill me in on this concept and how it works?

When trying to make a reservation, if all days of the stay are not available when you first call, you can be placed on the waitlist to try to fill missing days.

With the normal waitlist, DVC will call to confirm your request when/if it becomes available. You can also use the automatic/daily waitlist where DVC will add each day as it becomes available without confirming it with you.

In the first case, you will get the reservation only of all days become available at once and you are at the top of the waitlist. In the second case, you would just have days added as they open up. MS wil not save days to fill a request, so the automatic/daily list does work well for most. The only problem is that it is possible that you could end up with missing days for the stay.

The waitlist is emptied 30 days prior, but you can call to placed back on the list again at that time. It empties again 7 days prior- after which you would need to call MS to see if anything becomes available.

The waitlist does work. It helps to be optimistic and patient, but it does work.
