First time wait listing.

We have 4 nights booked at BLT and are wait listed for 2 nights at the beginning of our trip. When I spoke with MS, they told me that if the wait list came through, I would have to check out after the 2 nights and check back in. Is this right? If so, how do I assure that we would stay in the same room?

Oh, yes. Just another way the system has been improved. You won't have to move, but you'll need new cards.

We had a nightmare of a time with this during our January trip - at BLT for 7 nights but under 4 different "chunks" because of the way our waitlist came through...ugh!

It would be so nice if there was something they could do for us so that we don't have to check back in!

It's the lovely new computer system. It wasn't that way in the past.

Our trip last month was in two segments because we decided to arrive a few days earlier than I originally had booked. Instead of modifying the original reservation as they used to do, the system created a new segment for the added nights but with everything under the same confirmation number. When we checked in the CM said we might have to check in again for the second segment and that she would know for sure when she created our keys. Turns out the keys were good for the whole stay. I got the impression that it works sometimes and doesn't work other times and they don't know until they create your keys.

As long as we don't have to move, checking in and out is not a big deal.

I don't see why they can't just tie it all into one. :confused3

It's not a big deal until the system fails left and right....thankfully a wonderful CM at the front desk was very patient with our situation, had to rebook our entire reservation two separate times before we were officially checked back in. This included sending a runner to meet us in the MK where we were trying to pay for dinner with credits, and our cards were no longer working for the second time that day. And this was all in the same resort, same room.
