Wait-list Question **Updated on Post#6**

DD(2.5) and I are headed to BWV in 5 DAYS (Feb4-Feb7) !

This was a last-minute trip planned and booked three weeks ago. And I can't believe our luck! We got a BW view studio for the 1st two nights...at only 3 weeks out!!! I'm so excited! For our third (and final) night we will have to move to a preferred view and are currently wait-listed for a BW view studio for that Monday night (2/6/06).

Anyway, on to my question, starting tomorrow I have to call and wait-list for it day-by-day since we'll be in the 7-day-out window. Has anyone ever had any luck in the last 7 days actually getting their wait-list to come through? How about a BW view studio coming through in the last 7 days? Hmmm....

Our came through 48 hours in advance for our last minute MVMCP getaway. (Booked 30 days out at SSR and waitlisted).

As an update, I called 1st thing this morning to put myself on the day-by-day waitlist and the person I spoke with was in a HURRY to get through our phone call. She then informed me that I can't waitlist a week before my waitlist date. I told her that I had been told by MS to call back TODAY and waitlist day-by-day. She said I can only call and check availability NOT waitlist. I said okay and hung up. BUT, I called back 30 mins later and spoke with someone else who wasn't in a big hurry and put me on a waitlist. How can one MS agent do it and another can't?

Anyway, I'd love to hear from anyone else who's waitlist came through (or didn't) in the last 7 days.

The first CM was correct. There are no waitlists 7 days or closer to arrival. At that point, you have to call to see what may have become available.

I seriously doubt you are on any waitlist - if you are, I suspect it is for the wrong date. My advice is to continue to call once or twice each day to see if something becomes available.

I agree with Carol, I don't think you are waitlisted for the right days. The CM had told me to call 2 or 3 times a day to check. (I thought it was excessive but she said do it). Bottom line, both my friend and I switched are SSR ressie to Boardwalk Water view, on Thursday for Friday checkin. (so no sutdios available all week, than 2 last minute).

Well, I GOT MY LAST NIGHT AT BWV!

It's VERY strange how it all came about, but what matters is that IT DID!!!

When I called to check availability today for that final night I was told that I had already been switched to a BWV studio BWview! I asked how that happened since last night there was no availability and this was my first call today. She said that it looked like someone at the resort noticed there was availability and booked it for me as well as linking both reservations so that we don't have to change rooms. I couldn't believe it. How awesome! It's as if I was on a waitlist even though I wasn't.

I decided to check my reservation on the DVC website as well (just to be certain) and sure enough, it shows me being confirmed in a BWV studio BWview. This was the first day that I didn't check the DVC site before calling and wouldn't you know...it's the day I should have.

So for those folks waitlisting out there...don't give up on the waitlist too early....you never know when something will come up...

On the DVC member website ( www.dvcmember.com ), click on the "My DVC" link on the top menus and select the POINTS option. Scroll down that page and click on "View Vacation Details." Current and past reservations will be there.

Great news!

We stayed at 4 different DVC's last year: OKW, BCV, VWL, BWV. I thought the CM's at BWV were the absolute BEST! Sounds like a great one was there for you too. Congratulations...
