Wait List for BWV Standard View

I booked my trip last month for the BWV 2 br suite Preferred view because that is all they had. I am on the wait list for a standard view to save the points, we aren't in the room that much anyway. We are going the week of July 9th to July 17th. Any one think I might get the standard view off the wait list and how long can it go befor they will not make the move. One last question, has it happened that one got a standard view at check in, saving the points?

I believe you are on the waitlist up to 30 days prior to arrival. If you don't get it by then, you may need to call again. I haven't heard of anyone getting a change at check-in. I'm hoping others will give more definitive ansers.

You can change that to a 7 day before check in if you want. That way it gives you another 3 weeks of a possibility of getting what you want. Good luck.

If you change to a standard view room 30 days or less prior to departure, your "extra" points go into the holding account. That means those points may only be used to make a reservation that is 60 days or less from the day you call to make it. Availability if often limited at that point. Holding account points cannot be banked and will expire at the end of your use year.

My advice is to stick with the PV if the waitlist doesn't come through before the 31 day mark. Holding account points can be a real pain!

Another thought for you - why not wailist for the guaranteed Boardwalk view instead? It's the same number of points and would be a bonus if you get it.

Maybe ask for the last few nights to become available all at once - say the 14th to the 17th? You might like the BW view and you'd only have to move once. Just a thought.

We were on a waitlist for three months for BWV Standard View in January, and it did not come through. We were happy and surprised to get in for our trip in June when we booked at 7 months.
