Wait list and pts of yr2024

I'm not sure if I've just made a problem for myself. I have a (present use yr)SS studio booked for 2 nights. I then made a long res for several nights (2023 use yr PLUS some '24 pts). I've used all my '23 yr pts. Question is: since I just today waitlisted a better studio for that first res and it requires a few more pts, if it comes thru will DVC automatically pull the extra 6 pts needed from my 2024 pts? Or will I need to purchase those one time pts? Sorry if this is confusing.

You can only borrow one year ahead. So, if the trip is in your 2022 UY, then you could only borrow from 2023 UY.

Since those are already in a reservation they won’t be able to fill the waitlist. The only way to have them use OTU points is to buy them ahead of time by calling, making a fake night by buying the points…making sure it’s at least 31 days in advance and in your 2022 UY…then canceling the night so the OTU points are there just in case.

The drawback is you have to buy them and the waitlist might not come through.
