We have a trip planned at the end of the month, with 3 nights at BCV, and 1 night at AKV. We are waitlisted for the last night for BCV, so we won't have to move for one night. In your experiences, is there any advantage to continue to try and call and get that last night, over just waiting for the wait list? Is is possible to score that room by luck?

I'm interested to see what others tell you. I'm waitlisted for 1/7 at SSR and really don't want to move. I've been calling a few times a day (4 days now and nothing), thinking people may be canceling since it's close to the deadline to avoid holding points.

I've read that the waitlist system only makes matches over night so it possible to get a room that someone else is waitlisted above you by calling but I don't have any personal experience.

I have heard about the "overnight" processing too, but others have said they have had it change during the day, so who knows. I have been calling several times a day, but am wondering if I am just waisting my time if we are already on the wait list.

I'd be interested in what others say here. I made a reservation today with a waitlist at the beginning and end of our stay. MS told me not to call back (there was no need) because we'd be notified automatically by email if something opened up. She implied that the waitlist would put my reservation in automatically so that there was no need to call.

This was my first reservation, so I don't know and would appreciate advice. We were able to book for our stay at 40 days out, so we were happy even if we had to change rooms a couple times.

I scored a night that way. I was on a wait list for it but called in and it was available so I booked it.

When I asked how come it didn't match my wait list before going in to inventory, the CM said that sometimes they get released in the system before they get checked for a wait list and if someone happens to call right at the right time, it can get taken.

It can't hurt to call in case something does open up. Good luck getting your last day.

I was waitlisting and gave up and removed my waitlist because I wanted to have it straight in my mind and so I just started calling each day almost gave up and decided to call early in the morning one final time and low and behold they had my choice available:worship:.

I keep trying too....we'll see what happens :-) Today, I asked the MS CM if there was anything they could do to get us the last night...she put me on hold for a while (I thought she was making some magic happen)..but she came back only to say that she wasn't able to do it :-(

I will send some good luck wishes your way. Hope it comes through for you.:wizard:

My advice is to keep calling. I have wait listed many many times. I have gotten many of them without calling. BUT I agree that sometimes when you call to check it becomes available at that moment and by calling you get it. I don't really understand how it works but as long as I get my room I'm happy.

I called to check on our waitlist a few days ago. The CM at MS said not to bother calling because they would notify us if and when it came through. I did change it to 7 days out. Once we hit 7 days out, we will need to call daily to see if the villa comes through. We would like BLT instead of OKW so it will require more points. You don't want to waitlist after 30 days out if your converted reservation would require fewer points - you wind up with holding points.

I made a reservation and had to waitlist the first night as they did not have it for a 7 night stay. Low and behold just 3 hours later I got an email stating that my reservation was finalized. So I know it is ongoing and not an overnight process.
