wait list advice

I am waitlisted for one night at BCV in January. All of the other nights came through but we are waiting for jan 9th right in the middle of our trip. At what point should I get nervous. At this point should I book a cash ressie somewhere or can i safely wait a bit longer. We have a one bedroom and really need two. Any advice would be appreciated. Barb

Can you get a cash reservation for a BCV two bedroom for that night? If so, then when your wait list room comes through (if it does), then you can cancel the cash reservation. I think, but I'm not certain, that you can cancel cash reservations up to 7 days before the date of the reservation.

Don't get too nervous I had December 8-11 booked in a two bedroom at BCV. Or so I thought I did not have the 11th so I waitlisted but just to be safe got a studio at OKW. Well anyways I got the confirmation stating I got the two bedroom at BCV. Well then I decided to leave on Saturday the 7th and stay in a studio to save on points and then again had to settle for studio at OKW and waitlist for BCV studio. Just today I got the confirmation stating i got the BCV studio.
Just be a bit patient if you see that its not coming thru call them it helps.

I'd say hang in there for something to open up through DVC... but be safe and have backup plans (that are refundable)!

We used the wait list for the 1st time for this December's trip. We booked 3-nights in a 1bdrm @ BWV and then realized that just wasn't long enough. We were put on the wait list and bought our airfare to include the extra night... and just to make sure we had a place to sleep if DVC didn't come through, we booked cash ressies at the All-Star...

I was so excited when a letter came from DVC informing that our whole trip could be at the BWV, so we cancelled our All-Star stay.

I guess the only "complaint", or I guess "comment" is a better word, is the DVC CM said they would call if the room came available and I would have 24 hrs to decide. I never got that call, all I got was the letter stating my reservations were accepted from the wait list... which was all great, but it was a different procedure than what they said.
