Hi to all those who wish to read this trip report. I have been a member for awhile but have mostly just read on the boards and contributed rarely on the News and Rumors board.

So, I will start with introductions.

My name is Emily and I am 29 years old. I have been to Disney World too many times to count. I used to live in Tampa so I would pretty much go up every other weekend. When I moved back to Connecticut, I have only been able to go once a year or twice a year.

Jorge is my boyfriend and is 26 years old. This is his first trip to disney and I am sure that I will be able to turn him into a Disney fanatic.

Michael is our son and he will be 10 months old when we make the trip. This will be his first trip to Disney. I am so excited to take him.

So, we will be going to Disney October 6-10. We will be staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter. Also, my parents, sister and her boyfriend will be going on this trip.

As soon as I can, I will insert pictures. In the next post, I will tell the story of how this trip came to be since we really were not suppose to be going this year.

Originally, Jorge and I were planning on going to Disney and Universal for WWOHP last October. Well, as I was getting ready to book the trip, we found out that I was pregnant and when we would be going would be when I was no longer allowed to fly. So, we scrapped the trip. Then, during my maternity leave, we decided that we would go for Michael's first birthday. Well, at the time, Jorge lost his job and was looking for a new one. Well, he got a new job and we just figured that we would plan a trip for May 2012 for the three of us. I settled on May 2012 would be the next time that we could go.

So, about a month ago, my mom calls me at work and says that she thinks that we need a trip to Disney. I tell her okay and how will this trip get paid for. She then says that her and my father will take the whole family to Disney in month later celebration of the anniversary. But, she says that she still needs to tell my dad who was in a bad mood that day. So, I of course am thinking, great now she got my hopes up about this trip.

The next day, I get a phone call from my mom and she says that my dad agreed and that we will be going to Disney. :woohoo:

So pretty much, she told us that we would be going October 6-10 and staying a Port Orleans French Quarter.

Next installment, where are we going to eat and what kind of passes are we getting.

So, it was decided that we would get the 4-day park hopper. Originally, when I discussed it with my mom, she was only suppose to get the 3-day. Since I was in high school, we had made this unofficial rule that we do not get passes for the day we arrive or the day we leave. Because depending on our flights and by time we get to the hotel, we usually only have a couple hours in the park or a half day and why not really get to use the pass for that day. Well, she decided that it was a good idea. She figured that since Jorge and I were talking an early morning flight with Michael on Thursday and the rest of them planned on taking a later flight on Monday that we would use the tickets. Sooo, Jorge and I decided that it will depend how Michael is after we arrive in Disney. It will be Michael's first flight so we don't want to push him too much that day if he is not up to it. So, Thursday is up in the air until we get to Disney. We figure that once we arrive if we will not be going to a park that we will add no expiration to use it for our trip in 2012.

As of right now the plans are:

Thursday- Arrive in Disney
Friday- Animal Kingdom, EPCOT in the evening
Saturday- Magic Kingdom
Sunday - Disney Hollywood Studios, possibly EPCOT in the evening
Monday- Head Home

Earlier I tried to post this but it seemed to disappear.

So, for this trip, we got the regular dining plan. Jorge and I are not worried about TS meals with Michael since he does really good a restuarants. If I have a few toys and reccently if he has a piece of bread, while we are eating, he is a pretty content little guy. Since Michael was born, Jorge and I have taken him to restuarants with us and we usually go about once a week sometimes more. So, Michael is used to the restuarant routine. We usually feed him while we order and wait for our food. Then, he gets a toy or two and some breadand he stays pretty busy until we are done. Michael is pretty much a go with the flow baby.

So here is our plan for meals while we are there:

Thursday - Depends on what we decide on doing
Friday - Breakfast - Wing it
Lunch - Flame Tree BBQ
Dinner - Teppan Edo
Saturday - Breakfast - Crystal Palace
Lunch - wing it
Dinner- Ohana
Sunday - Breakfast- Hollywood and Vine
Lunch - Brown Derby
Dinner - Wing it

So, here is the next installment of this trip report.

I would like to thank all those reading my report.

So, we have not booked our airfare yet. We plan on booking this after we return from Maine. We have been checking online for fares and there still is plenty of room on the flights that we plan on taking.

Jorge, Michael and I plan on taking the early morning flight on Thursday since those flights coincide with Michael's feeding time. On Monday, we hope to get a mid-morning/early afternoon flight.

I know this update is short but I hope to have more to share next report.

YAY for yesterday. I was able to get my new graco stroller for the trip. It is the Graco Mosaic and so far I love it. It pretty much collapses as close to a umbrella stoller and will allow Michael to lie down when he needs to. I am so excited.

Next post, I believe this will finally let me post photos.

Finally some pictures.

First, picture is the family: Jorge, Michael and myself.

We were at a wedding and decided to go into the photobooth. This was right after some lady scared Michael so he had his "I am not amused look." Every so often, he gives me that look.:rotfl:

Next, this is the picture of the stroller that we will be using. I can't wait to try it out better in Maine next weekend. So far, I love it.

So pretty much, I have not been planning too much for our trip. I have been preparing for a Maine trip.

Your baby boy is a cutie pie. It will be nice to have the extra hands helping you out while youre on your trip. Last time we went to WDW my son was 3 months old. We had my husbands sister and her family with us and it ws so nice.

We're planning a trip to DLR in a few months with my 5 year old DD and 19 month old son by ourselves. It's going to be the first time we're going to any Disney Park without an extra set of hands to help.... Should be interesting.

Look forward to hearing about your trip. popcorn::

Thank you. I am looking foward to having the extra hands. It should be very helpful.

Your little ones are too cute.

Sorry, I have not posted anything to my readers lately. Things have been a little crazy. We have been preparing for our trip to weekend trip to Maine that I just got home from. It was a good trip. Michael handled the drive and the change in schedule very well. He just pretty much went with the flow.

I also got a good test drive of the new stroller. All I have to say is that I love this stroller. Very easy to transport, took up very little space and Michael was able to nap and such.

So, we are now looking for our airfare for Disney and hope to find something that fits the times that we want to go.

That's great that Michael did so well in Maine! Hopefully that means he'll do well at Disney!!

So, last night, we finally booked our airfare. We will be taking JetBlue and got the even more room seats. On Thursday, we will be flying down at 8 am, and on Monday, we will be leaving at 6:30pm. I just hope Michael does well with the flights since it will be his first time flying. :confused3 We picked flights around when he gets his bottle so it should help with his ears.

Any other suggestions for flying with a baby will be greatly appreciated.

Well, after we had gotten our airfare, we were talking about missing MNSSHP and most of our dinners being at 8. So, last week while I was home from work since Michael had a cold, my mom and sister stopped over and asked about going to MNSSHP. We decided to go Friday night which ended up changing our dining and touring ideas. :rotfl2: Of course, this completely changed our ADR. So now, I give you our new schedule.

Thursday- Arrive, Downtown Disney, Dining depending on our mood.
Friday- Animal Kingdom, eat lunch at Flame Tree BBQ
Evening at Magic Kingdom at MNSSHP, Eat at some counter service
Saturday- EPCOT all day, Lunch at Coral Reef, Dinner at Biergaten
Sunday- DHS, Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine, Late lunch at Sci-fi
Monday- Magic Kingdom, breakfast at Crystal Palace

The meals that we did not plan our usually the meals that we just grab a counter service depending on our mood. We all like this dining arrangement better. Usually when we go for a long weekend it October, this is our usual touring schedule and we pretty much hit everything that we want.

I know two updates in one day. :rotfl: Yesterday, I started looking in Target to get ideas of some toys to keep Michael entertained on the plane. We are probably gonna get Michael the baby computer. It should keep him entertained for at least 20 minutes. Michael usually likes our computers and hits the keys expecting things to happen. So, it isn't expensive and should keep him entertained. I will need to pick up a few other new things that he has not played with before to keep him busy.

We are also planning on sending down his diapers, food and formula for the time that we are there to the hotel and need to figure out everything that we will need.

It has been awhile since I posted something. First, I was having problems logging in and then Tropical Storm Irene hit. We lost power for several days so we moved into my parents until power was restored. My parents had power thru the storm so we camped out. After coming back home, we had to do some organizing. We were lucky no damage to the house.

Now on to some Disney planning. We got out Magical Express package with tags. I also bought Michael a new toy for the plane. It is the baby mobile phone from Target.

We also got him a Handy Manny Halloween book that comes with a trick or treat bag which is perfect size for him for MNSSHP.

We are waiting for rest of the Disney packet to come in the mail and making a list of things that we may need before the trip.
