Wait for the discount code or book the room first?

Help, which way round should we do it? We're going from the 12th-21st August and want to stay at HRH, I don't think this is high season in the US?

So do I wait for the AP rate to be released and risk the availability, or book the room and risk not getting a good rate?

If we book the room first, is there a chance that we won't get a discounted rate?

We'll have AP's, will probably get next year's entertainment book and also have a fan club card, although I'm epecting the APH rate to be the best.

I just got off the phone with them and yes, you can book now and then get any discount rate that may come out and you are eligible for. (you would have to keep calling and checking)

I was trying to book the weekend of 1/14 for our 10 year anniversary but the all that was available was king suites at the HRH or RPR and it was 300-400 a night. :( I told her no thanks that's a bit much when I live an hour away and she said if I booked it now they'd charge one night plus taxes to my card and then I could call back when the AP discounts come out and it would be adjusted.
