Wait for Summer Incentives?

I've decided to buy about 50pts direct at AKL to line up my Use Year. It seems like most of the add on incentives kick in at about 100pts. Should I wait to see what the summer incentives are or just go ahead and buy now?

I think you are correct, incentives don’t start until 150, so unless the incentives could be useful (and worth spending for) just buy 50 now.
Are you trying to get up to 150 direct?

No, I'm trying to get about 410. We have some direct and resale points. My wife and I travel during the "slow" seasons and like to stay in 1BRs. That will give us enough points to do three Sun-Fri trips during the year.

Buy now. There’s no recent history of them offering incentives at 50 points, especially on a sold out resort, and there’s always the chance of a price increase.

If you wait, would you pay less in annual dues for this year? Since it's such a small contract it wouldn't be a lot but that's the only reason I can think to wait...

Any reason you would buy direct? I bet you could get 100pts resale for the same price, especially if you have benefits already.

Yes, the process for buying my resale points was such a pain that I decided to go the direct route this time. I started the resale purchase on 25 March and the contract still isn't on my membership. The 60 points I purchased today are already ready to be used. You have a very valid point about the cost of points, 50 vs 100, but I don't really think we could use the extra 100pts at this time. Soooo, to answer your question directly, I'm impatient.

Edit to add I would also like to be able to use my points at some of the restricted resorts in the future.

If you are only looking at buying 50 pts, you could buy it now. There’s no incentives for under 100 pts.
