I know. I should have followed my gut and made reservations when my window opened, but DD 17 didn’t want to go for dinner. Now we’re a week out and she changed her mind. Only slot for 3 on July 3 is 8:45 and we would miss the fireworks at MK from the dock. How long would you guesstimate if we got there around 7:00? I’ve always had reservations so This is new to me

I know this isn’t the answer you are looking for but any time you get from us is pure speculation. Just because someone waited an hour 3 weeks ago has no bearing on the wait time on your night.
My best advice is to keep checking the app to see if an earlier time appears. You can also set up an alert with touring plans. Many people including myself have had great success with it. Good luck!

If you show up at 7:00 they’ll tell you to come back 15 minutes before your 8:45 ADR time.

I know the ADR procedures. I just don’t want the 8:45 time that’s available. So we will go standby. And I know it’s hard to say what the wait time would be for that. I was just curious what some people have seen as possible times. One hour? Two hours? One hour would be ok as she and DH could tool around the hotel and I could wait. We’ve had to wait15+ minutes there before with ADRs so I know the set up

Any time we checked in early they have told us to return closer to reservation time. We did and still had to wait.

now as far as a "walk up",while there is always the possibility of getting in. It's more than likely the response will be "sorry we can't accommodate you at this time. My suggestion would be to keep checking even day of. Cancellations do happen all the time. People need to cancel 24 hours before or ca

(If you find a better time day of, my recommendation is you call and advise you want to modify reservation.)

I’ m families with the cancellation policy and have been checking multiple times a day. We were lucky enough to get reservations for Be My Guest from a cancellation two weeks after it first opened. This is really our only day . So we’ll check back

I would keep your reservation for now and keep checking every day, a few times a day. Especially in that 48 to 24 hour window, things could open up. I would not expect to be accommodated on an early walk up and wouldn't waste my time with that. Sounds like a frustration just waiting to happen. If you can't find a different reservation time before the 24 hour window, I would cancel it and find something else that fits better into your plans. Which stinks I know but sometimes we can't win them all!

The good news is we go multiple times a year and we’ve done this meal several times. It just would’ve been perfect timing for us if we could get an earlier reservation. Thanks a lot for everyone’s responses!

The reservation finder works. Last trip I put in a request for California Grill. I had been looking every day sometimes twice or three times. Two days before they came up with the time we wanted. (Reserved, then ended up canceling and keeping our Flying Fish because we had a good discount there)

When you check into your hotel (this is only if you are staying in a disney hotel) go to the concierge (values to deluxe all have them) and have them check for an opening. If there are none, keep checking every morning. There are always cancellations and you need to check in the a.m. to be sure to grab one if there is one to grab. I do this every year.
