I still see threads about receiving the dreams...

What Will You Celebrate? doesn't start until 2009, so for the next 1 1/2 weeks they will still be giving out dreams.

I sure hope they keep the YOAMD going until at least spring considering most of the new "What will you celebrate" stuff seems to not start until spring ! I've been planning on proposing on Jan 1st and all the new "celebrate" stuff for that starts Spring of '09 ugh...oh well thankfully I know some CMs that are going to try and help make it a special day for us anyway...heres happy thoughts sent out to everyone this special Christmas day !

I've seen others say that they can't wait for YOAMD to be over. I don't get it. Whats so bad about it?:confused3 I didn't get to go to Disney while they were doing this, but it seem pretty awesome.:confused3

What will you celebrate? starts Jan. 1st of 2009 (at least for birthday stuff anyways!!!)...My friend is going to be there Jan. 3rd for her birthday and is getting the "free admission on the day of her birthday" and my daughters both have their birthdays there in Feb. and I've been told by several Disney people that we'll get the free gift card for each of them. What part of it doesn't start until Spring? I thought it was just a promo for people to get something free (admission or gift card) if they have a birthday/anniversary or something like that- it has to be able to be proven by an official piece of paper.

I don't know of much that won't begin until spring. Most of the new Celebrate activities begin early next year. The Celebrate! Dreams Come True parade will begin sometime in January. The Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It! Street Party on Main Street is slated for February. About the only thing I'm aware of that won't begin until the spring is Stitch's SuperSonic Celebration in Tomorrowland. It's scheduled to start in April. :)

I've been curious about this too. We last were able to go in 2004 and finally decided after our miserable 2008 (MIL passed away unexpectedly and DH lost his job - was able to find another on the day his unemployment ran out, etc) that we would pull the kids out of school (gr. 2,6,9) and go in Feb. I would have loved to be part of YOAMD. Thrilled to be going at all but thought the "randomness" of YOAMD was much more appealing then the Birthday celebrations. I'm sure we will still have a great time though.

We just left on Saturday (1/3) and were surprised to see the YOAMD group out in force on Friday, January 2 at Epcot. There must have been at least 10 of them headed toward Mission Space. DS stopped them to check out their pins and they made a big production out of him "accidently" dropping pins (in actuality, they were dropping theirs on the ground for him to pick up and keep--he got 8 of them from the group!!!) and told us that it was their last day together as the YOAMD team. They weren't giving out any prizes they said, but the pins were sure a nice surprise. Our encounter ended with them saying very loudly something about dreams coming true at Walt Disney World.

Their pixie dust must have rubbed off...we were picked as Family of the Day at Epcot on Saturday morning (greeted by the characters out by the fountain for a big group photo and then off in a Test Track car over to the ride, then to Mission Space and two No Strings Attached passes for attractions). A perfect ending to a great 15 day vacation.

I think they are "Overlapping" right now as we were at MK and Epcot yesterday Monday Jan. 5th and MK still has holiday decorations, the tree was still up and year of a million dreams signs were still up on main street.
The monorail still had the YOMD message running.
but I was able to get my Gift card for 75.00 ( we have AP's) and use it

At Crystal Palace we were Offered to add A "celebration package" to a Birthday meal - they started at 5.99 for a basic package and we did see a little girl get a princess package - it looked cute but didn't pay attention to the price.

FYI- some Cm's will tell you you can use that gift card as it has NO expiration date-Not true as I checked with Guest services at 2 parks and you have to use it ALL on the day you get it.

I believe the websites say that the cakes and whatnot will be available Spring of 09 but people have reported having no problem ordering them for Jan. trips. Specifically the princess or pirate cakes.
