What is your ideal measurement for your waist?

When I started in August with my program (eating a little less, moving more and going to the gym) my waist was 36". I am down to 31". My goal that I would be happy with is 27-28".

Anyone else have "goals" that are inches and not just "goals" that are in pounds?

I would love to look into inches, but I think that even discourages me more since that is the last place I lose. I do crunches 5 mornings a week. Then I do weights 2 times a week and cardio 2 times a week, sometimes 3. I know my waist has gone down since started, but I would still love to see more go.

When i started in august my waist was 39" and my first goal was to get my waist at 34" or under since people with waist over 34" have greater risks of heart attack.

Well,my waist is now at 34" so i have met my first goal and my next goal is to get it to about 27"

When I started my waist was 43" now it is down to 33". My goal is 28". I use inches as goals 'cause sometimes that scale and I just don't get along!!! And I kept a pair of jeans from before I started and I try them on when I feel discouraged....just to see if they still fall off! HA HA!

Dr. Oz was on tv the other day and he said for a man the waist should be no more than 35" and for women it should be no more than 32". People with large waists are at a greater risk of heart disease than someone who carries their weight on their hips.

I was at a size 38" waist and now, I am at a 34". My goal is somewhere between 30" and 32". If I can get there, I should have a nice, tight midsection. My ultimate goal is just to feel confident with my shirt off. :confused3

OK, I had heard about the inches thing. I was at 45 inches, and today, I am at 38. Almost to 37. I hadn't checked my inches at all since starting and was pleasantly surprised to find the amount of loss I had. Yeah! I would like to get to 32. I was 27 in High school, but I know that isn't going to be possible.
