THis past Feb. we did a girls cruise, my mom dd, cousin and aunt. We all loved the trip and thought 4 days just wasn't enough. My mom said we would definitely go again but with the entire family, once my sisiter's twins were old enough, 5 or so.

Well, waiting for the twins to be 5 would have meant waiting until 2008. My Mom talked to my sister this week and it was decided 3 1/2 was old enough and we would go next year!!!!!! We will be booking a trip for April or May 2006 this time for 7 days!! I am starting to obsessively plan already, my husband is just rolling his eyes!!

Which should we do western or eastern? We will have 2, 3 year olds a 7 and 9 year old and 6 adults. (There may be more extended family coming along once the word gets out)

I might get some heat by saying this, but personally, I don't think the ports really matter (unless your heart is set on seeing something you can only do in one place like Tulum in Cozumel or Stingray City in Grand Cayman). Both itineraries have great beaches, shops, and diving/snorkeling.

As a result, I think you need to decide which you'd rather have: more sea days or more port days.

We were nervous about 3 days at sea for our first longer cruise, so we picked the Western. My DH and I agreed that we wish we had had more time on board to do all of the activities/tours. Now we're booked on an Eastern and Special Western.

Think of it this way, your'e in a win/win situation. After all, you're on the Magic! :boat:

If many of the party haven't traveled a bunch and are interested in more ports of call, and the chance to do more excursions, I'd do the Western. The 2 days being at sea for most of the eastern cruises can be a bit confining, albeit many say relaxing. We didn't care for St. Marteen, but the excursion to St. John from St. Thomas is a big plus for the eastern. Hard to go wrong with either.
