I am assuming that when news shows and newspapers refer to Michael Jackson as 'Jacko', they are using that word from the term Wacko Jacko. I couldn't believe it when I saw on CNN that they were using Jacko to refer to Michael Jackson. Isn't that a bit unprofessional?

Considering the fact that I would refer to him as 'that child molesting piece of crap', I think they're being kind.

I thought "Jacko" was a nickname bestowed upon him by the Brits. Technically, I suppose it is not appropriate to be used by the "legit" media. It would be like referring to the president as "Dubya".

I saw a pic of him in the paper....his hair had the cutest 'flip" style....Just like Jackie-O in the 60's...maybe that's where his name came from? :hyper: :teeth:

for a comedian to refer to him a s "Jacko" or "Wacko Jacko" is a far different thing than for a professional newsperson to refer to him in that manner.

a newscast loses credibility and dignity if the reporters lose their professionalism.

at this point he's still only an "alleged" child molester -- though I believe the charges to be true, he's innocent until proven guilty. that's the basis of the American judicial system.

Tsk, tsk. This is America, we are innocent until proven guilty.

It's very unprofessional. We can't just assume someone is guilty, no matter what. That is a dangerous thing to do.

I think you are being nice but then again you can't say exactly how you feel on the DIS and use all the words that NEED to be used in this piece of garbage's case.

just remember, guys, Jayson Williams was found "not guilty." it's possible Michael jackson will be exonerated, too.

not likely, but possible.

still, when I see the NY Post headline about "Wacko Jacko" I know I'm in for a sleazefest...

I believe that Michael will ultimately be found not guilty. The wild charges they are making now just show how fanatical they have gotten in going after him.

Regardless on whether he is guilty or not, referring to him using the name "Jacko" is not professional.

I had to restrain myself Beauty.

How are you people so sure he is guilty? The prosecutors seem out to get him, and willing to do anything. Your values you are showing are un-American. You assuming guilt would make our foundin fathers very sad.

Regardless of how bizarre Michael Jackson is, he is as innocent as you or me in relation to these crimes at this point.

So, just so I have this right, as soon as a jury finds him guily then I can call him a 'child molesting piece of crap'? Is that what you're saying? OJ was found not guilty, that doesn't make him less of a murderer, does it?

Yes, if a jury finds him guilty I have no problem saying that. But right now you and I are as much of a child molestor as he is.

As for OJ, even though I think he probably killed two people, I cannot consider him a murderer. He was found not guilty, so he is not guilty. I thought the jury's verdict was wrong, but we can't just accept verdicts we like. We have to go by what the court said. He should be as free to live his life as me or you.

We cannot decide guilt or innocence on our own, we must accept our legal system. While it is not flawless, it's the best thing out there.

Well *I* consider OJ a murderer, for sure.

I also think Wacko Jacko will get off just like OJ.......may they *both*spend the rest of their lives with people pointing fingers at them and avoided them like the plague...

So why even have a legal system if you don't care what the court says?

Personally I feel that any parent who allows their child to stay alone with Michael Jackson should also be brought up on charges!! What parent in their right mind would leave there child with someone who was already accused of being a child molester in an earlier case. I don't care if a jury found him innocent or if he was even charged or not MY child would NOT be left alone with anyone where there was a shadow of a doubt if they did it or not!! It is completely irresponsible of any parent to even put their child in that postion in the first place! OK..climbing off my soap box now....

Ok, whatever..... it's America and I'm allowed to voice my opinion, and my opinion is that he is guilty as sin. Oh, and OJ is a murderer, just an aquitted murderer.
