My dad got very, very, very sick while traveling to Orlando to meet us at Disney World. I'm leaving at 6 a.m. tomorrow to fly to New Orleans to get him. He is well on his way to recovery, but of course cannot go to Disney. Very scary for a few days.

ANYWAY, I was able to reschedule for March 10-18 but I'm thinking the crowds would be quite high. I guess what I'd like to know is May a better time to go? Or, what are crowds like for March and May? :confused3

Thanks for your help!

Sorry I cant help with your questions but just wanted to wish your Dad a speedy recovery. Dads shouldnt do things like that to their children!!!! Mine has been unwell for almost a year with various different things the doctors cant put a diagnoses on and its really worrying for everyone. Hope you enjoy your vacation when you finally get to go! :flower:

Aw, sad news. Best wishes to your dad...hope he gets better soon.
Were you able to get full refunds on everything?
I'm not sure what crowds are like in May...but crowds in the middle of march are dreadful! I went last year during my college spring break...and hour plus waits at everything by the middle of the day. Definitely don't recommend March.

Early May before school lets out is probably an ok time to go. You will have some crowds; because, the Flower and Garden show runs at that time.

For you and yours! I hope that everyone gets well soon and that you are able to enjoy your trip in March or May!

Doesn't spring break usually coincide in some way with the major religious holidays in the spring? I posted them below for 2006. Hope your dad is doing better...I've gotten that call, it sucks!

March 1 Ash Wednesday Catholic, Protestant
March 14 Purim Jewish
April 13 Holy Thursday Catholic, Protestant
April 13 Passover Jewish
April 14 Good Friday Catholic, Protestant
April 16 Easter Catholic, Protestant
April 23 Easter/Pascha Orthodox Christian

I went this past March and it was wonderful. Spring break this coming year is in April for most schools so the crowds shouldn't be too bad. We will be there from March 12-24.

Hope you father is felling better (((HUGS)))

March is a nice time to go but it can be a little cooler weather wise. IMO I have been in March and May. I prefer May!!! It was perfect this past May when we were there. Nice sunny warm. While it was still cold in NJ

::MickeyMo We go early May ever year and it's perfect! Longest we waited for anything was 10-15 minutes! I don't think the Flower and Garden Festival affects the parks too much. Yeah, it's beautiful, but a lot of people won't pull kids out of school just for that. March I have a feeling will be busy between college (my SB is in March) and HS spring breaks. Plus it all depends on Easter and Passover. However, I already know of a few school s(up here) that have their Grad Nights in March, so there's that going on too. I'd definitely go in May. It's a fabulous time to go. We go the same week every year.

Thoughts and prayers for your father. Hope everything is okay! ::MinnieMo

Awww, Hope your dad feels better soon. Hugs. Our last trip we went in May and it wasn't bad at all. It was beofre school let out so the crowds weren't as bad. Not sure how March is though.

Best wishes to your dad for a speedy recovery. We have never been to WDW in March, but we enjoyed May. It's still a little too hot for me though which is why we've now switched to Oct-Jan.

Hope your dad is feeling better soon!

Lots of prayers and :grouphug: being sent to your dad for a speedy recovery. I am sorry that you have to postpone your trip. You are very fortunate to have your dad.

Bless you all and take care of each other. :flower:

Public schools here - spring break is in April (3-7)
My daughter goes to UF and their spring break is the week of 3/13 which is when you'll be there. I don't know how the college spring break affects the crowds but I've heard it's crowded in March.
I've been in early May a few times - it can get HOT but the Flower and Garden Festival is really nice to see!

I will be so releived when I get down there and see for myself how my dad is doing.

I may be a bit more investigating and switch our reschedule to May. I am not a crowd person! I would be waaaaay to crabby!

Really March won't be too bad. I am in college as well and my SB is in April. Also all the schools here their SB's are also in April. I waited maybe 20 minutes for most rides this past march. It wasn't bad at all.
