W32.KlezH virus questions

When we got our email tonight Norton picked up a W32.KlezH virus. It said it could not be repaired but we could quarantine it so we did. We didn't open any attachments but the e-mail was still in our inbox.

DH then ran a GoBack program to restore our computer to a point about 2 hours prior (before the e-mail was downloaded).

What is this virus and did we do enough to get rid of it? Could it still be on our hard drive?

Delete the email completely. Do you have all the newest updates for Norton? If not, go to symantec.com and get them and then run the anti-virus scan again.

Norton has deleted the bad part of the email, the virus, and put it in quarantine. You can open the email, or click on it safely, to delete it to your Deleted folder. You can then go there and delete it from there. It is harmless once Norton did its thing. Periodically you can go to Norton, Reports, and clean out the Quarantine and Backup folders there. Also, no need to do the GoBack's.

Aren't you glad you had Norton? As said, make sure you have your Norton to auto update, or at least do it manually, weekly, on Wednesday, Norton's normal update day. But best is to have t auto update.

If you quarantined & then deleted it you should be fine. (Norton's well worth the money in my book! )

If you are still worried that you might have gotten it, you could go to Norton's site and download the removal tool.

I failed to re-install Norton on DD's computer after the hard drive crashed last year (had to format the drive & start over) & she got one of the variants...really screwed up the system until we ran the tool.
